You will advise technology and engineering leaders on AI strategy, investment priorities, software delivery transformation, and value realization.
The role combines deep software engineering expertise with research, strategic analysis, thought leadership, and executive advisory work.
You will develop actionable insights that help organizations embed AI across the software development lifecycle and improve productivity, quality, and outcomes.
The position offers significant visibility with senior executives and opportunities to influence industry thinking through research, client engagements, and major events.
You will work within a global, collaborative analyst community while operating with considerable independence and intellectual ownership.

- Develop high-impact, differentiated research and thought leadership on software engineering AI strategy, agentic development, value measurement, and emerging technology trends.
- Advise senior technology and software engineering executives on how to build comprehensive AI strategies, prioritize high-value opportunities, and translate AI investments into measurable business outcomes.
- Analyze client challenges in depth, identify root causes, challenge conventional thinking, and provide practical recommendations that accelerate strategic decision-making and execution.
- Research market trends, competitive dynamics, technology shifts, and emerging practices to identify implications and opportunities for software engineering leaders.
- Develop frameworks, metrics, and methodologies for assessing AI-driven software engineering performance, productivity, ROI, and broader business value.
- Create and deliver compelling presentations, briefings, workshops, and keynote-style content for executives, clients, industry conferences, and professional events.
- Engage directly with clients and prospects through virtual and in-person interactions, providing actionable guidance tailored to their strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with other analysts and research teams to shape research agendas, peer-review content, exchange ideas, and establish differentiated points of view.
- Provide thought leadership and strategic input to senior internal leaders, helping evolve research priorities and market perspectives.
- Support commercial and client-engagement activities by contributing market expertise, research insights, and strategic perspectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve research methodologies, processes, and service delivery while mentoring and supporting more junior colleagues.
- Build and maintain credibility as a recognized expert in software engineering, AI strategy, and technology value realization.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; a graduate degree is preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant industry or functional experience, with substantial leadership experience in software engineering organizations.
- Proven track record leading large-scale, multi-team software delivery organizations with accountability for execution, quality, performance, and business outcomes.
- Deep expertise in software engineering strategy and AI value measurement, including roadmap development, technology decision-making, performance metrics, investment evaluation, and ROI analysis.
- Hands-on experience with AI-native software development, including applying AI throughout the software development lifecycle, improving developer productivity, optimizing delivery outcomes, and engineering AI applications and agents.
- Strong understanding of the global software engineering and technology landscape, including competitive dynamics and emerging market trends.
- Demonstrated executive presence and the ability to establish credibility quickly with senior executives and diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional research, analytical, writing, communication, and presentation capabilities, with the ability to simplify and explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to connect technology strategies to measurable organizational value.
- Ability to synthesize complex data, identify patterns, apply strategic frameworks, and develop and defend clear conclusions and recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and produce high-quality deliverables under demanding deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multicultural, globally distributed, and highly matrixed environment.
- Learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to adapt quickly to evolving technology and business landscapes.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, where applicable.
- Competitive base salary range of $172,000–$202,500 USD, depending on experience, education, skills, location, and business considerations.
- Additional compensation through either an annual bonus plan or an eligible role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
