What You’ll Do

As an Nutritional Aide, you are under general supervision of the Nutritional Supervisor and/or Department Director, performs a variety of cafeteria duties which may vary according to area assigned.

Nutritional Aide Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to staff, patients, and visitors in a fast-paced cafeteria environment.
  • Operate cash registers, process transactions accurately, balance cash drawers, and assist with daily cash deposits.
  • Serve food and beverages to customers while maintaining quality, presentation, and service standards.
  • Stock, replenish, and organize food, beverage, and retail inventory to ensure product availability.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain cafeteria equipment and vending units as assigned.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining, serving, storage, and work areas in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Complete routine cleaning schedules, including daily, weekly, and periodic deep-cleaning tasks.
  • Support food service operations through product restocking, inventory management, and general departmental assistance.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, food safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, required training, and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain flexibility to work varying schedules, overtime, and additional shifts as needed

What You Bring

As a Nutritional Aide, this position requires strong verbal and written communication skills to follow instructions, complete routine tasks accurately, and read and write legibly. The individual must be able to perform basic calculations, particularly when mixing formulas in assigned work areas. Success in this role also depends on excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact courteously with patrons and staff while maintaining positive working relationships. Additionally, the position requires the motor coordination and dexterity necessary to serve food, handle dishes, and safely use a variety of cleaning supplies and equipment to support daily operations.

Required Qualifications

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are acquired through the successful completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be a minimum of 17 years of age.
  • Previous customer service experience in a food service environment is preferred.
