Gage Crib & Calibration Technician
Winooski, VT · Full-Time · Monday–Friday
$21.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-driven Gage Crib & Inspection Technician to help protect the accuracy behind every part we produce. This hands-on role keeps precision measuring equipment calibrated, organized, available, and audit-ready while supporting dimensional inspection throughout our aerospace and precision manufacturing operations. You will work closely with Quality and Production to prevent measurement issues before they reach the customer.
How You Will Contribute to Advancing Precision Manufacturing
• Protect Precision: Inspect, clean, identify, label, store, and issue micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, pin gages, thread gages, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Perform Precision Calibration: Calibrate and verify mechanical gages, including micrometers, thread gages, plug gages, and other measuring equipment, following established procedures and accurately documenting the results.
• Own Calibration Control: Maintain the calibration schedule and records, monitor upcoming and overdue items, and coordinate outside calibration, repair, or replacement when needed.
• Support the Production Floor: Respond to gage requests, assemble and maintain measurement kits for shop-floor use, help employees select the correct measuring equipment, and replace tools that are damaged, missing, or outside their calibration period.
• Inspect with Confidence: Perform routine dimensional inspections from drawings using appropriate hand gages, document results accurately, and promptly communicate discrepancies.
• Control Measurement Risk: Quarantine equipment suspected of damage or out-of-tolerance conditions and support the review of any product that may have been affected.
• Stay Audit-Ready: Keep the gage crib orderly and maintain complete, traceable records that support Preci’s AS9100 quality system and customer requirements.

Requirements:Minimum Qualifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience using precision measuring tools in a manufacturing or machine-shop environment.
• Ability to use common precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, and go/no-go gages.
• Ability to read blueprints, understand tolerances, and accurately record inspection results; basic GD&T knowledge is helpful.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through, with comfort using spreadsheets or computerized quality records.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with Quality, Engineering, and Production.
Above and Beyond Qualifications
• Previous calibration experience preferred.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing or within an AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality system.
• Experience with calibration-management software, audit preparation, or gage recall systems.
