Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Companys key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.
Salary Range: $89,000 - 134,000/annual - based on skills and experience
Position Summary
The Sr. Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives to grow OEM business with major commercial and military airframers, engine manufacturers, and Tier 1 aerospace suppliers. This position manages key customer relationships, identifies new business opportunities, negotiates long-term agreements, and serves as the primary commercial interface between customers and internal engineering, operations, and executive leadership.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience selling aerospace accessories, components, or systems into OEM platforms and has established relationships within major aerospace manufacturers and the new market disruptors with UAV and AAM.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for assigned OEM customers.
- Drive revenue growth and secure long-term production and aftermarket business.
- Manage strategic relationships with major aerospace and defense manufacturers across commercial, business, and rotorcraft sectors.
- Develop new relationships with market disruptors and in the fields of additive manufacturing, drones, powerplants, and data centers.
- Identify new platform opportunities from aircraft development through production and Sustainment.
- Lead pricing, contract, and long-term agreement negotiations.
- Coordinate with Product Line Directors, Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Quality.
- Monitor market trends and competitive activity.
- Develop forecasts and sales pipeline reports.
- Represent the company at customer sites and industry events.
- Ensure compliance with customer and export requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Aviation, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of aerospace OEM sales/business development experience, preferred.
- Experience selling aerospace accessories, electromechanical products, avionics, or aircraft components.
- Knowledge of commercial and military aerospace procurement.
- Experience negotiating large contracts.
- Strong executive communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel 40% - 50%.
- Knowledge on Aerospace accessories, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, fuel systems, vapor cycle and environmental control systems, actuators, sensors preferred.
- Strong strategic thinking, sales and business acumen.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to interpret market data, financials, and operational metrics.
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making capability.
- Proficient in complex negotiations, contract management and executive relationship management.
- Proven track record of penetrating new aerospace accounts and securing long-term contracts
