Job Summary:

The laboratory technical consultant oversees all clinical laboratory testing. Performs all clinic competency checks for clinic staff performing lab tests. Assists in the decision-making process for the purchase of new lab equipment or methodology. Oversees all quality control indicators for lab tests. Ensures all CLIA requirements are met for all clinics performing lab testing. Upkeep of all policy and procedure manuals for lab testing.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in medical technology, including at least one year of appropriate clinical education. Certification or is eligible for certification in clinical laboratory science by a recognized certifying agency is required.

Language/Communication Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Skilled with clinical laboratory tools and techniques, such as statistical laboratory quality control practices.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding by carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
