JEWELRY SPECIALIST/E COMMERCE LISTER in Pooler, Georgia at Goodwill of the Coastal

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The jewelry specialist must be able to sort, provide quality assessment, anticipate value, and identify specific jewelry items, designer/maker marks, and use appropriately methods of testing to sell items online. In addition, the jewelry specialist is responsible to list, photograph, and provide descriptions for online sale.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Exemplifies Goodwill Southeast Georgia’s mission, vision, and values within all aspects of assigned work.

2. Sorts, evaluates, and identifies items by value to list for online sale.

3. Able to use provided equipment to verify jewelry specifications (i.e., cut, weight, carat, metal, etc.)

4. Strong attention to detail to describe items for resale.

5. Lists items accurately with comprehensive and grammatically correct descriptions.

6. Researches specialty items to ensure proper and creative descriptions maximize their exposure and describes value.

7. Follows all posting procedures to assign listing numbers and maintain proper placement into storage area to await purchase.

8. Properly photographs items with a digital camera or cell phone to market and accurately represent the item to potential buyers.

9. Communicates with customers via email to address questions and resolve issues or concerns regarding listed product using best practices in customer service.

10. Follows all established policies and procedures related to online sales and standards of operation.

11. Prepares items for accurate shipment.

12. Meets or exceeds daily listing and/or shipping goals.

13. Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment.

14. Maintains a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a positive manner with customers, co-workers, and leadership.

15. Other duties as assigned – including the listing of non-jewelry items to meet list/ship goals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Strong knowledge of jewelry, collectibles, and art. Ability to use online forums to research items to determine appropriate value.

* Past jewelry industry experience preferred. GIA/FGA a plus.

* Past e-commerce experience preferred.

* High school diploma or GED.

* Computer skills, knowledge to navigate through online sales portals, payment systems, shipping systems, and online value sites.

* Experience using a digital camera or cell phone camera.

* Eye for great picture taking to pictorially describe items.

* Creative writing skills and strong attention to detail.

* Ability to learn quickly and retain information.

* Ability to work in collaborative team environments.
