Job Description

Sunflower Beach is a luxury boutique resort community located just steps from the beach in Port Aransas, Texas. We’re seeking an experienced, dependable, and passionate Chef to lead food operations at Turtle’s Poolside Grill, our resort’s poolside dining venue.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional food, maintaining high standards, and creating memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced resort environment.


Kitchen Leadership & Daily Operations
  • Prepare and execute menu items with consistency and attention to detail
  • Manage daily kitchen setup, prep work, and service operations
  • Ensure food is delivered accurately, efficiently, and to established standards
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and productive kitchen environment
  • Support smooth service during both routine operations and high-volume periods
Food Quality & Guest Experience
  • Deliver high-quality food that reflects the Sunflower Beach brand
  • Maintain consistency in presentation, taste, and portioning
  • Monitor freshness and product quality at all times
  • Take ownership of every dish leaving the kitchen
  • Contribute to a positive and elevated guest experience
Food Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchen
  • Properly label, rotate, and store food products
  • Ensure safe food handling procedures are consistently followed
  • Maintain required certifications, including a Texas Food Handler Certificate
Inventory & Cost Management
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs
  • Minimize waste and manage product usage responsibly
  • Maintain organized storage areas and inventory systems
  • Support profitability while maintaining quality standards
Teamwork & Communication
  • Work closely with management, bartenders, pool staff, and resort leadership
  • Communicate operational needs, equipment concerns, and inventory shortages proactively
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • Remain adaptable and solution-focused during busy service periods
