You’ll have the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies, modern development frameworks, and rigorous verification methodologies while directly supporting groundbreaking space initiatives. The position offers an exciting blend of hands-on development, technical problem-solving, and long-term career growth within a high-impact engineering program.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software solutions for advanced aerospace and space-service applications.
  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, coding, testing, integration, and verification.
  • Develop software primarily using C, C++, and Assembly within real-time operating system environments such as VxWorks and Linux.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-reliability software for mission-critical systems.
  • Support software verification and validation activities in compliance with rigorous development standards and coverage analysis methodologies.
  • Utilize development and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and requirements management systems to track progress and ensure quality delivery.
  • Participate in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Spiral development processes depending on project needs and system requirements.
  • Assist with debugging, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and integration of embedded systems and communication interfaces.
  • Contribute to documentation, code reviews, static analysis, and automated build processes to ensure maintainable and scalable software solutions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded software development or engineering.
  • Strong programming expertise in C, C++, and Assembly language development.
  • Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks and Linux.
  • Familiarity with software development in highly regulated industries including aerospace, defense, aviation, military, or medical technology.
  • Understanding of rigorous software development and verification standards such as DO-178 and MC/DC coverage analysis.
  • Experience working with software development tools including JIRA, Confluence, and related engineering platforms.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies as well as traditional software development lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with command and telemetry systems, CCSDS communication standards, or NASA CFS frameworks is considered a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to scripting and additional programming languages such as Python, Bash, Java, C#, HTML, or XML is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Must meet U.S. government export control eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or eligibility for required authorizations.
Benefits:
  • Opportunity to work on groundbreaking commercial space and aerospace programs
  • Remote-friendly and collaborative engineering environment
  • Exposure to cutting-edge embedded systems and aerospace technologies
  • Career growth opportunities within a rapidly evolving high-tech industry
  • Collaborative culture focused on innovation, engineering excellence, and technical leadership
  • Work alongside highly skilled multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Opportunity to contribute to mission-critical software with real-world impact
  • Professional development and exposure to advanced software engineering methodologies
  • Competitive compensation package based on experience and expertise.
