This role plays a central part in shaping how a large healthcare system plans, sources, and manages its capital equipment and infrastructure investments. You will define and implement strategies that govern capital projects, equipment procurement, and lifecycle management across hospitals and clinics. Acting as a system-wide expert, you will collaborate with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders to ensure capital resources align with patient care priorities and organizational goals. The role requires strong leadership in building standardized processes, optimizing sourcing strategies, and supporting long-term equipment planning. You will also contribute to financial discipline by balancing budget constraints with operational needs and clinical requirements. This is a high-impact position for someone who thrives in complex, mission-driven environments where operational excellence directly supports patient outcomes.
In this role, you will lead the development and execution of capital equipment strategies and ensure effective management of capital projects across the healthcare system.
- Serve as the system-wide subject matter expert for capital equipment, FF&E, and capital project management
- Develop and implement capital and minor equipment sourcing strategies across hospitals and outpatient facilities
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and finance stakeholders to build comprehensive equipment master plans
- Align equipment lifecycle planning, replacement schedules, and budgeting with organizational priorities
- Establish and standardize equipment specifications and procurement guidelines across the system
- Oversee capital planning processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and financial alignment
- Support cross-functional coordination to ensure successful execution of capital projects and initiatives
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in capital planning, procurement, and healthcare operations, combined with leadership capability and structured problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, administration, construction, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in equipment procurement or capital sourcing within a healthcare environment
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a relevant operational or capital-focused role
- Experience working within integrated delivery networks (IDN) or large healthcare systems strongly preferred
- CMRP certification preferred
- PMP certification preferred
- Strong ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across clinical, financial, and operational teams
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and strategic planning skills
- Ability to balance budget constraints with operational and clinical priorities
