Job Description

Company Overview
Function Health is the AI operating system for health, designed to empower people to live 100 healthy years. We are redefining how individuals understand, measure, and improve their health by moving beyond the limitations of traditional care and enabling comprehensive, continuous insight into human biology. Function has been recognized as one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2024, and is venture-backed by Redpoint and other leading venture firms. Over half a million members have joined Function to take control of their health.

Through comprehensive lab testing, MRI and CT imaging, longitudinal data, and guidance from AI and clinical teams, Function gives members a complete and continuous view of their health — and the clarity to act on it. Through acquisitions across imaging, mobile phlebotomy, and supplement tracking and optimization, Function is building an integrated health platform that spans the full path from testing to health clarity to daily action.

Function recently announced a $298M Series B and is entering its next chapter of growth. As we scale, the quality and durability of our People systems, data, and insights will directly shape our ability to attract, retain, and support exceptional talent.

We are growing our team and seeking out world-class talent that deeply believes in our mission to positively impact global health, has a relentless bias toward action, and a growth mindset. Function fosters a collaborative and dynamic environment where every day we build the future.

Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced QA Associate to join our QA department. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the quality and consistency of our member success operations — evaluating interactions, identifying trends, and helping drive continuous improvement across the team.

The QA Associate plays an important role in upholding the quality and consistency of our member success operations. Sitting within the QA department and reporting directly to the QA Team Lead, you will be a primary executor of our audit and evaluation processes — reviewing member interactions, identifying quality trends, and contributing actionable insights that drive continuous improvement across the team.

In this role, you will work closely with the QA Team Lead to maintain scoring standards, support calibration efforts, and help surface the connection between interaction quality and key member success metrics. You will also serve as a resource for flagging coaching opportunities and skill gaps, contributing to the growth and development of the broader MS team. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, analytically minded, and passionate about quality — someone who takes pride in thorough, consistent evaluation work and is energized by helping a team deliver exceptional member experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Auditing is the core of this role. The majority of your day will be spent reviewing member interactions (email, chat, sms) against established quality criteria, consistently meeting weekly and monthly audit volume expectations. This role is a strong fit for someone who is energized by deep, focused evaluation work and takes pride in thorough, high-volume output.
  • Quality Standards: Help maintain internal scoring rubrics and QA documentation, surfacing suggested updates to the Team Lead based on observed trends
  • Performance Analysis: Track and analyze member success metrics (e.g., CSAT, First Response Time) in relation to QA scores, identifying how agent performance and interaction quality drive key outcomes, and sharing findings with the Team Lead
  • Training and Development: Flag recurring skill gaps observed through audits and contribute insights to support onboarding and ongoing L&D initiatives, flagging interaction examples that illustrate key quality themes
  • Process Improvement: Recommend strategies to improve support quality and the member experience, bringing well-documented observations and suggestions to the Team Lead for review and implementation
  • Calibration: Help identify and prepare materials for calibration sessions to support consistent scoring and alignment across the QA team
  • Reporting: Assist in producing reports that capture agent performance, quality trends, and the impact of improvement initiatives

Qualifications/Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in a member/customer success or support role, with a strong eye for what a high-quality member interaction looks like
  • Strong understanding of the member journey, product offerings, and Function’s best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, fair, and constructive feedback
  • High attention to detail and the ability to maintain objectivity and consistency across evaluations
  • Comfortable working with large datasets, interpreting trends, and translating data into clear, actionable insights
  • Proficiency with Sheets, Notion, back-end platforms (admin app, PQ, etc.), front-end platforms (desktop, mobile web, mobile app), Intercom, and AI platforms

Your dedication to these responsibilities will directly contribute to the success of our platform and the satisfaction of our users. We are looking for a proactive, skilled, and forward-thinking individual to join our team and help shape the future of our services.

To be a strong fit, you embody our Core Values
  • Ruthless Prioritization:
    • We don’t let perfect get in the way of progress.
    • We move quickly to drive value, not perfection.
    • We prioritize what drives impact.

  • Sustained Integrity in Every Detail:
    • We earn trust by obsessing over accuracy, quality, and clarity in everything we do.
