Paralegal in Colombia, Huila at Distro

Position: On-site Bankruptcy Paralegal supporting a high-volume Chapter 13 practice at a well-established legal firm specializing in bankruptcy and tax law. This role supports attorneys with financial and legal documentation, client communication, and case tracking. Prior bankruptcy experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided. Ideal candidates have experience in financial or banking environments, strong analytical skills, and solid Microsoft Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with clients to collect required documentation (pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements).

• Review, redact, organize, and prepare documentation for court filings.

• Perform income analysis and financial calculations using Microsoft Excel.

• Prepare bankruptcy-related legal documents (affidavits, motions, objections, trustee correspondence).

• Monitor case status and track court deadlines.

• Follow up with clients to ensure compliance with requirements.

• Track client payments and identify inconsistencies or delays.

• Enter and maintain case data in legal management systems (e.g., Clio).

• Collaborate with attorneys and internal team members to ensure timely and accurate case handling.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, logical functions, financial analysis).

• Experience managing and reviewing financial and legal documentation (taxes, bankcarrupcy).

• Ability to perform income calculations and financial assessments.

• Experience with legal practice management software (Clio or similar).

• Familiarity with bankruptcy software (e.g., Best Case) is a plus.

• Background in financial services, banking, legal, or office environments (minimum 1 year preferred).

• Knowledge of bankruptcy processes (Chapter 13) is a plus.

• Degree in Law or Finance is a plus.
