This role sits at the intersection of Android engineering and application security, focused on building advanced tools that analyze mobile applications at scale. You will contribute to a platform that performs both static and dynamic analysis of Android apps to detect security vulnerabilities and privacy risks. Working within a highly technical engineering and security research environment, you will help design and improve systems that instrument and evaluate application behavior in real time. The role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to influence the evolution of a cybersecurity platform used to help developers build safer mobile products. You will collaborate with distributed engineering teams and security researchers to design new detection capabilities and enhance analysis pipelines. This is a hands-on engineering position ideal for someone passionate about Android internals, tooling, and system-level problem solving.
- Develop and enhance tools for static analysis of Android APKs to identify security and privacy vulnerabilities.
- Improve dynamic analysis systems that instrument Android applications to monitor runtime behavior on devices.
- Collaborate with security researchers to design and implement new detection rules and security checks.
- Contribute to the evolution of a large-scale Android app scanning and analysis platform.
- Work closely with distributed engineering teams across multiple international locations.
- Investigate and understand Android application behavior, including reverse engineering and runtime instrumentation when needed.
- Support continuous improvement of platform performance, scalability, and detection accuracy.
- 3+ years of experience in mobile or Android software development.
- Strong hands-on experience building Android applications or developer tools.
- Solid understanding of the Android runtime, architecture, and application lifecycle.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to work on complex technical systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong interest in Android internals, debugging, and low-level system behavior.
- Experience with Python or tool-building is a plus.
- Familiarity with reverse engineering tools (e.g., Frida, Xposed, apktool, androguard) is a plus.
- Exposure to Flutter or cross-platform development tooling is an additional advantage.
