Manager and Actuary (Actuarial Modeling Team)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Manager and Actuary (Actuarial Modeling Team) in United States.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced actuarial professional to lead operational excellence within a high-impact actuarial modeling environment. In this role, you will oversee critical modeling workflows, ensure high-quality actuarial outputs, and contribute to the evolution of scalable processes supporting retirement and annuity product lines. Working cross-functionally with actuarial and product teams, you will help translate complex model results into actionable business insights while strengthening governance and execution standards. The position combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, offering the chance to mentor actuarial talent and improve operational efficiency across the organization. You’ll play a key role in balancing day-to-day execution with long-term process enhancement initiatives in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving analytical challenges, leading teams, and driving continuous improvement within a sophisticated actuarial framework.

Accountabilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day actuarial modeling operations and coordinate Business-as-Usual (BAU) workflows to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide first-level review and quality assurance for recurring actuarial modeling outputs, ensuring consistency, integrity, and alignment with business expectations.
  • Interpret and communicate actuarial results by connecting model outputs to underlying trends, drivers, and broader business context.
  • Support governance and model stewardship activities, including testing, documentation, process consistency, and adherence to change-control standards.
  • Lead onboarding, training, and development initiatives for junior actuarial staff, reinforcing modeling best practices and analytical rigor.
  • Collaborate closely with product line stakeholders and cross-functional actuarial teams to support model changes, reporting requirements, and operational priorities.
  • Identify execution risks, troubleshoot modeling issues, and improve workflows to enhance team scalability and efficiency.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc analyses, new business initiatives, and cross-functional projects requiring actuarial modeling expertise and operational support.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • FSA designation or equivalent international actuarial certification strongly preferred.
  • 5–8 years of progressive actuarial experience, including hands-on actuarial modeling and reporting responsibilities.
  • Strong expertise with GGY AXIS modeling software, including model execution, output validation, troubleshooting, and run controls.
  • Experience supporting actuarial reporting, projection modeling, and analysis for retirement plans, annuities, or related financial products.
  • Ability to explain complex actuarial concepts and modeling outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of governance standards, documentation practices, testing protocols, and process controls within actuarial environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and coaching capabilities with a collaborative and execution-focused mindset.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with forward-looking projection metrics such as CFT, effective duration, EEV, or similar reporting frameworks is considered a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of $130,250 – $208,000 annually
  • Annual incentive bonus opportunity
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan with company matching contributions
  • Generous paid time off, including holidays, wellness days, and volunteer hours
  • Paid parental leave and adoption/surrogacy assistance programs
  • Career growth and advancement opportunities within a collaborative environment
  • Employee giving program with donation matching for eligible organizations
  • Remote work flexibility and strong work-life balance support
  • Inclusive, people-focused culture emphasizing innovation, collaboration, and professional development
