Position Overview:

The Commercial Garage Door Helper works alongside experienced technicians to install, maintain, and repair commercial garage doors, dock equipment, operators, and related systems. This is an entry-level role, perfect for someone who's good with their hands, ready to learn a trade, and looking to build a long-term career in the garage door industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Help lead technicians install, service, maintain, and repair commercial garage doors and equipment
  • Assist with repairs on springs, cables, tracks, rollers, operators, and hardware
  • Safely load, transport, and unload tools, materials, and equipment for job sites
  • Handle basic tasks like drilling, cutting, fastening, and assembling parts under supervision
  • Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe
  • Follow all company safety rules and OSHA guidelines
  • Drive company vehicles and operate equipment safely when authorized
  • Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
  • Take on other tasks and projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Reliable way to get to the shop and job sites
  • Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn a skilled trade
  • Comfortable working at heights (ladders, lifts, elevated platforms)
  • Able to bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and stand frequently
  • Able to repeatedly use hands, wrists, and arms for installation and repair work
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs. and climb ladders
  • Willing to work indoors and outdoors in different weather conditions
