The Senior Accountant will manage end-to-end revenue accounting and billing processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across financial operations. The role requires strong ownership of monthly close activities, data analysis, reconciliations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Own the complete monthly billing cycle, from source data validation to invoice delivery, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Prepare and generate customer invoices across multiple platforms, entities, and currencies.
- Transform high-volume operational and usage data into accurate billing outputs.
- Validate billing against contract terms, pricing structures, commitments, and revenue agreements.
- Review complex customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies before invoice release.
- Manage credit memo processes, approvals, issuance, and customer communication.
- Calculate partner payouts and revenue-sharing amounts while maintaining supporting documentation.
- Ensure revenue recognition processes comply with ASC 606 standards and internal accounting policies.
- Perform reconciliations of accounts receivable, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, and payment processor accounts.
- Prepare journal entries, variance analyses, and financial reports supporting month-end close activities.
- Use analytics tools to support revenue reporting and improve visibility into financial performance.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and improved data quality.
- Collaborate with global teams across accounting, operations, customer service, and shared services functions.
- Support knowledge sharing and provide backup coverage for key accounting processes.
The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting professional with strong revenue accounting expertise, advanced analytical capabilities, and the ability to operate independently in a remote global environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including significant experience in revenue accounting, billing operations, or high-volume transactional environments.
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification required.
- Strong understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and practical application.
- Solid knowledge of month-end close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including large datasets, pivot tables, lookups, and complex reconciliation models.
- Experience with accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, including revenue contracts, order entry, and data imports.
- Experience working with multi-currency and multi-entity accounting environments.
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar analytics tools, including report development and data modeling.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify issues, and recommend process improvements.
- Strong operational mindset with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with automation tools such as Power Query, SQL, or Python is a plus.
