  • Support contract development by ensuring project scope and pricing align with estimates.
  • Participate in project handoffs and kickoff activities with execution teams.
  • Maintain historical bid information and project cost data to improve future estimating accuracy.
  • Collaborate with preconstruction, engineering, procurement, project management, and field service teams throughout the estimating process.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate has experience estimating complex electrical infrastructure projects and possesses strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. This role requires the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience estimating transmission-level substations and transmission line projects (13.8kV–500kV).
  • Experience with EPC, turnkey, utility, renewable energy, industrial, or commercial electrical projects.
  • Knowledge of estimating internal engineering costs, materials, equipment, construction labor, testing, commissioning, overhead, and project support costs.
  • Familiarity with reviewing electrical drawings, calculations, and technical documentation to develop accurate estimates.
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations, including NEC, NFPA, NESC, OSHA, NERC, RUS, IEEE, ANSI, IEC, and applicable building codes.
  • Ability to interpret project requirements and develop estimates with limited initial design information.
  • Strong research, analytical, and decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities, solve problems under deadlines, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with Microsoft Project.
