Job Overview:

As a Food Service Worker, you'll play an important role in creating a positive experience for our patients, visitors, and team members. By supporting the daily operations of the kitchen, tray line, and dish room, you'll help ensure every meal is prepared, delivered, and served safely, efficiently, and with care.

Scheduling Requirements

  • Shift:Day
  • Part-Time, 18.75 hours per week
  • The schedule can vary flexibility in availability is required Sunday-Saturdays.
  • Weekend and holiday availability is required to help ensure outstanding food service and patient care every day of the year.

As a Food Service Worker, a typical day might include the following:

  • Serve on the tray assembly line in assigned positions involving starters, servers, soups, desserts, and hot beverages.
  • Wash pots and pans and perform heavy cleaning duties as directed.
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of work areas, equipment, and supplies.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment; perform general routine cleaning duties and non-round duties as assigned.
  • Collect, process, and properly dispose of trash, recyclables, and waste.
  • Correctly label and date portioned food products.
  • Deliver and pick up patient meal trays according to department policy.
  • Maintain established food preparation policies, procedures, standards, and quality expectations.
  • Prepare, load, transport, and strip food trucks; scrape plates and pre-soak silverware.
  • Communicate patient questions or concerns to the Diet Office and notify nursing staff when assistance is needed.
