Position Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Engineer Intern will support discipline engineers in day-to-day engineering tasks to develop a greater understanding of the field of engineering and design.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Learns and asks questions to understand clearly what the objective is at hand.
- Applies relative and current educational knowledge to proper technical situations.
- Works within Anvil's Project Services Quality System.
- Meets regularly with assigned supervisor to review ongoing progress and performance.
- Performs periodic field visits to project sites accompanied by assigned engineer.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Accepted into a college of engineering and possess the passion to pursue a career in engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Pursuing a B.S. in Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent in the field of:
- Chemical
- Electrical
- Mechanical
- Control Systems
- Civil/Structural
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to sit/stand, type, and perform computer work for long periods of time.
- Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry and answering phones.
- Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs. if necessary.
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs at heights as would be necessary for a field survey in a heavy industrial environment.
