Position Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Engineer Intern will support discipline engineers in day-to-day engineering tasks to develop a greater understanding of the field of engineering and design.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Learns and asks questions to understand clearly what the objective is at hand.
  • Applies relative and current educational knowledge to proper technical situations.
  • Works within Anvil's Project Services Quality System.
  • Meets regularly with assigned supervisor to review ongoing progress and performance.
  • Performs periodic field visits to project sites accompanied by assigned engineer.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Accepted into a college of engineering and possess the passion to pursue a career in engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Pursuing a B.S. in Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent in the field of:
    • Chemical
    • Electrical
    • Mechanical
    • Control Systems
    • Civil/Structural

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to sit/stand, type, and perform computer work for long periods of time.
  • Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry and answering phones.
  • Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs. if necessary.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs at heights as would be necessary for a field survey in a heavy industrial environment.
