Position: Middle School & High School Principal | 12-Month
Reports To: Head of School
Supervises: Middle School & High School Staff and Students (Grades 6–12)
About the Position
Schaumburg Christian School seeks a visionary, dynamic, and relational leader to serve as the Middle School & High School Principal. This position will provide leadership and oversight for grades 6–12 while building a cohesive secondary program focused on academic, social, and spiritual excellence.
The ideal candidate will cultivate a Christ-centered culture that engages students, supports faculty, strengthens partnerships with families, and prepares students to become servant leaders for the glory of God. This role requires a strategic thinker who can operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment while planning proactively for the future growth and development of the secondary program.
This individual will oversee academics, student life, faculty development, scheduling, discipline, spiritual culture, and operational leadership while ensuring strong continuity between middle school and high school programs.
Requirements:Qualifications
- Master’s degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience preferred
- Previous educational leadership experience preferred
- Experience in curriculum development preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to supervise faculty and lead teams effectively
- Proficiency in instructional technology and educational systems
- Ability to operate efficiently, make timely decisions, and manage multiple priorities
- CDL preferred but not required

- Must be an exemplary Christian role model

Roles & Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Develop and sustain a Christ-centered academic culture for grades 6–12
- Ensure continuity and collaboration between middle school and high school academic programs
- Oversee curriculum alignment, instructional quality, and academic initiatives
- Evaluate and improve academic programs and student performance
- Coordinate AP, ACT, and standardized testing programs
- Supervise summer school and academic intervention opportunities
- Collaborate with teachers and resource staff to support students with learning disabilities or special needs
- Oversee textbook inventories, curriculum resources, and instructional materials while adhering to budgets
Faculty Supervision & Development
- Recruit, interview, and onboard faculty members
- Organize and lead professional development opportunities
- Conduct formal and informal teacher observations and evaluations
- Review lesson plans, curriculum progress, and teacher gradebooks regularly
- Monitor faculty technology proficiency and instructional effectiveness
- Encourage spiritual growth and collaboration among faculty
- Conduct department meetings and year-end evaluation conferences
- Assist with orientation and mentoring for new teachers
Student Supervision & Discipline
- Maintain active visibility and engagement with students throughout the school day
- Enforce Student Handbook policies and school standards consistently
- Monitor attendance, tardiness, demerits, and student behavior
- Coordinate proactive discipline meetings with students and parents
- Encourage faculty consistency regarding behavioral expectations
- Coordinate counseling referrals and student support services when needed
- Support student growth through after-school help, tutoring, and intervention programs
Spiritual Leadership
- Coordinate and oversee middle school and high school chapel programs
- Cultivate a Christ-centered culture throughout the secondary program
- Encourage biblical discipleship, servant leadership, and spiritual growth
- Support faculty in integrating biblical worldview instruction into classrooms
Student Enrollment, Scheduling & Orientation
- Interview prospective students and assist with enrollment processes
- Develop and manage middle school and high school schedules
- Coordinate orientation programs and student transitions
- Oversee locker assignments and independent studies
- Support dual enrollment opportunities and career/college pathways
- Encourage eighth-grade retention and smooth transition into high school
Parent & Community Engagement
- Serve as a liaison between parents, students, and faculty
- Supervise parent-teacher conferences and student support meetings
- Communicate effectively through newsletters, meetings, and school updates
- Participate in open houses, school promotion events, and community outreach
- Interpret school policies and procedures to parents, students, and staff
Operational & Event Leadership
- Coordinate and oversee chapels, camps, field trips, awards programs, and graduation activities
- Assist with Grandparents’ Day, open houses, and school-wide events
- Oversee after-school clubs, extracurricular programs, and student leadership opportunities
- Maintain organized, professional, and welcoming classroom and campus environments
- Coordinate lunch duties, parking lot supervision, and student flow procedures
- Work with facilities staff to ensure effective school operations
Communication & Public Relations
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, faculty, and staff
- Support school marketing, student recruitment, and public relations efforts
- Maintain professional school communication platforms and website content
- Promote the accomplishments and culture of the secondary program
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain current educational and administrative certifications
- Stay informed regarding Illinois and federal educational laws
- Pursue continued professional growth personally and professionally
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support the overall success of SCS
- Assume administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Administrator
