Job Description
Position Summary:
The Procurement Lead is a senior, hands-on procurement professional responsible for supplier quoting, sourcing, expediting, and onboarding in a fast-paced Engineered-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment. This role drives supplier performance, mitigates supply risks, and partners cross-functionally to ensure cost, quality, and delivery requirements are met while supporting the company’s rapid growth.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement activities for a fast-paced Engineered-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment, supporting complex and rapidly changing customer projects.
- Own the RFQ and quoting process for purchased parts and assemblies, including supplier selection, quote analysis, and lead-time validation.
- Drive supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and responsiveness, holding suppliers accountable to commitments.
- Lead supplier expediting efforts for critical, long-lead, and past-due materials; proactively identify risks and develop recovery plans.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Planning, Project Management, and Quality to identify material risks and ensure procurement supports project and production schedules.
- Support supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding, including evaluation of supplier capabilities, capacity, quality, lead times, and commercial requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers while serving as an escalation point for significant supplier and material issues.
- Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction, alternate sourcing, and supplier consolidation.
- Help develop scalable procurement processes, systems, metrics, and reporting to support the company's rapid growth and increasing procurement complexity.
- Identify and mitigate supply-chain risks associated with custom, long-lead, single-source, and high-value components.
- Serve as a senior procurement resource and cross-functional leader without direct reports, driving issues to resolution and mentoring procurement team members.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of progressive procurement/sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with supplier management, quoting, negotiations, expediting, and ERP/MRP systems.
- ETO, high-mix/low-volume, or project-based manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
