IT Systems Administrator
America’s Test Kitchen and Food52 are seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join the Information Technology team in order to support, maintain, and elevate our core infrastructure and technology services. In this role, you will manage a dynamic hybrid environment encompassing end-user hardware and support, cloud services, virtualization, networking, security, and specialized high-performance storage tailored for our media and video production teams.
This position is ideal for a versatile technologist who thrives on a blend of user support, hybrid systems administration, and strategic project work. You will work across multiple IT disciplines to deliver a secure, scalable, reliable, and frictionless tech experience for all ATK and Food52 employees and operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Systems & Infrastructure Administration: Maintain, upgrade, and optimize virtualization platforms, hybrid cloud services, backup/archiving solutions, networking, and enterprise storage—including high-performance media storage used in video production.
- Identity & Endpoint Management: Manage user lifecycles, access control, and licensing within Active Directory, cloud IdPs (Entra ID, Google Workspace), and MDM platforms (zero-touch deployment, Group Policies, and client configuration).
- End-User Support & Operations: Serve as an escalation point for technical issues, resolving Help Desk tickets promptly while identifying root causes to prevent recurring problems.
- Security & Risk Mitigation: Monitor security events, tune EDR/XDR tools, maintain patching schedules, and implement automated security policies to protect company assets and data.
- Efficiency & Documentation: Identify opportunities to automate operational tasks, streamline workflows, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and end-user knowledge base articles.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in IT Systems Administration, Systems Engineering, or IT Operations.
- Hybrid Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience administering Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems in a hybrid enterprise environment.
- Identity & Access Management: Deep knowledge of user lifecycle management across Active Directory, Entra ID, Google Workspace, or similar cloud IdPs.
- MDM & Endpoint Tools: Proven experience managing devices via modern MDM solutions (e.g., Jamf, Mosyle, Intune, Hexnode) using zero-touch provisioning and policy enforcement.
- Virtualization & Infrastructure: Hands-on administration of hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix) and enterprise network/Wi-Fi stacks (Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, Ruckus).
- Storage Systems: Experience managing file servers and high-availability/high-performance storage (NAS/SAN), ideally supporting large media or video production files.
- Security & Backups: Experience with EDR/XDR and managed/automated security tools, automated patch management, and hybrid backup/disaster recovery solutions.
- Problem Solving & Communication: Excellent analytical skills with a proven track record of managing competing priorities and translating complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent practical experience), alongside relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, CCNA, Microsoft, AWS, VMware, or other).
- Automation & Scripting: Practical experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) to automate administrative tasks and workflows.
