This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager / Sr. Manager – Marketing and Communications (Bhumi Fellowship) based in India.
This is a strategic marketing and communications leadership opportunity focused on building one of India’s most aspirational youth leadership opportunities. You will shape the Fellowship’s brand positioning, strengthen its visibility among purpose-driven young people, and drive high-quality applicant pipelines. The role combines brand strategy, digital marketing, storytelling, social media, campaign management, and performance analytics. You will work closely with program, partnerships, alumni, Fellows, and leadership teams to amplify the Fellowship’s reach and impact. A key focus will be leveraging AI-enabled marketing, automation, and data insights to improve personalization, efficiency, and conversion. The role offers significant ownership, team leadership, and the opportunity to contribute to a long-term education and youth leadership mission across India.
- Develop and execute innovative marketing and communications strategies that strengthen the Fellowship’s positioning and establish it as a top-of-mind opportunity for purpose-driven youth.
- Plan, launch, and optimize targeted online and offline recruitment campaigns designed to attract high-quality applicants and build sustainable talent pipelines.
- Lead storytelling and content initiatives, providing direction for videos, testimonials, impact stories, digital content, campaign assets, and other materials that authentically communicate the Fellowship experience.
- Manage the marketing budget strategically, monitoring campaign investments and continuously improving ROI, efficiency, and year-on-year performance.
- Lead social media strategy and execution to increase visibility, engagement, audience growth, and brand affinity among relevant youth audiences.
- Collaborate with Fellows, alumni, program teams, volunteers, and leadership to identify compelling stories, experiences, and impact narratives that can strengthen communications.
- Analyze campaign performance, audience behavior, and marketing effectiveness using relevant data and measurement frameworks, translating insights into actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Identify new growth channels, partnerships, technologies, and innovative approaches that can expand reach, improve recruitment outcomes, and increase brand visibility.
- Mentor and guide the marketing team, fostering strong ownership, high-quality execution, collaboration, and accountability against ambitious recruitment and marketing goals.
- Coordinate multiple projects and stakeholders across locations while maintaining consistency, quality, timelines, and alignment with broader program objectives.
- 5–8 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, brand building, digital marketing, or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of developing and executing marketing strategies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Business, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience working or volunteering with NGOs, social-impact organizations, education initiatives, or purpose-driven programs is preferred.
- Strong creative thinking and copywriting skills, with the ability to develop compelling content across traditional channels and modern digital and social media platforms.
- Strong understanding of web analytics, digital marketing, social media marketing, campaign measurement, and performance-driven marketing frameworks.
- Ability to leverage AI-powered marketing tools, automation frameworks, and emerging technologies to improve campaign efficiency, personalization, reach, and ROI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong storytelling abilities and the capacity to build a consistent and compelling brand narrative.
- Good verbal communication skills in Tamil, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and audiences.
- Strong technology orientation and familiarity with marketing technology stacks, analytics platforms, automation tools, and digital campaign ecosystems.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives, manage competing priorities, and coordinate cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural environment and collaborating with volunteer coordinators and teams across different cities.
- Highly collaborative, proactive, data-driven, and results-oriented, with the leadership skills required to mentor teams and drive ambitious marketing outcomes.
- Full-time opportunity with a leadership scope spanning marketing, communications, brand positioning, digital growth, and recruitment.
- Compensation of approximately 12–14 lakh per year, depending on experience and profile.
- Manager to Senior Manager designation based on the candidate’s experience, capabilities, and overall fit.
