Course description: Understanding social justice. Study of the specific links between social and ecological problems with insights from ecojustice, climate justice, environmental racism, ecofeminism and The Earth Charter (2000).
Required experience and qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in environmental humanities or a related field.
- Evidence of scholarly or professional work that bridges social and ecological issues and critically examines the interconnections among inequality, power, sustainability, and environmental change, including familiarity with frameworks such as ecojustice, climate justice, and The Earth Charter.
- Ability to articulate the connections between the fields of transformative leadership, integral ecology and equity studies.
- Active proficiency in English and passive proficiency in the second official language (French).
- Proficiency in community-engaged and/or experiential teaching approaches in adult education.
- Sensitivity to multiple differences (including abilities, genders, and cultures) and to students' concerns.
- Proficiency with both in-person and online learning tools
