Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Recruiter / Senior Recruiter based in United States.
This role offers the opportunity to own hiring pipelines end-to-end and help build a high-performing team within a fast-moving AI research environment.
You’ll partner closely with hiring managers and People leadership to define roles, establish effective interview processes, and identify exceptional candidates.
The position combines sourcing, candidate engagement, application screening, interview coordination, and hiring project management.
Because many hiring managers are conducting recruitment for the first time, your expertise will directly shape hiring quality, consistency, and candidate experience.
You’ll manage multiple hiring rounds simultaneously while maintaining clear communication, efficient decision-making, and well-organized pipelines.
The role also provides opportunities to influence recruiting strategy, hiring analytics, and budget decisions at the Senior Recruiter level.
Fully remote and globally oriented, this position is ideal for an adaptable recruiter who thrives on autonomy, ownership, and meaningful impact.
- Partner with hiring managers to scope new roles, define ideal candidate profiles, establish must-have qualifications, and set realistic hiring timelines.
- Advertise open positions, generate referrals, and proactively source candidates through professional networks, job boards, communities, and direct outreach.
- Design skills assessments and screening processes that effectively evaluate candidates against the requirements of each role.
- Own candidate communications throughout the hiring process, providing timely, clear, warm, and complete responses at every stage.
- Screen high volumes of applications efficiently while calibrating evaluations and hiring decisions with relevant hiring teams.
- Project-manage approximately 5–10 simultaneous hiring rounds, coordinating pipelines, interviews, schedules, budgets, and decision timelines.
- Coordinate interviews, paid work trials, and other assessment activities while ensuring candidates and hiring teams have the information they need.
- Advise hiring managers on recruiting best practices, particularly those conducting hiring processes for the first time.
- Use applicant tracking systems and AI-enabled recruiting tools to improve sourcing, screening, organization, and overall workflow efficiency.
- As a Senior Recruiter, develop recommendations around hiring analytics, recruiting strategy, and appropriate budgets for individual hiring rounds.
- Identify process improvements and help create a fast, transparent, consistent, and candidate-focused hiring experience.
- Build strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
Requirements:
- 1–2+ years of recruiting experience for a Recruiter position, ideally within a small or early-stage organization; 3+ years is preferred for a Senior Recruiter.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, including Lever or comparable platforms.
- Comfort experimenting with AI tools to improve recruiting workflows and productivity.
- Familiarity with the AI research landscape and related research, technology, or nonprofit communities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization professionally and thoughtfully throughout the candidate experience.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills, particularly when managing multiple hiring rounds, stakeholders, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Ability to explain recruiting decisions clearly, provide transparent reasoning, and constructively challenge hiring teams when expectations or evaluation criteria need recalibration.
- High level of agency and resourcefulness, with a proactive approach to finding answers and solving problems independently.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential candidate information appropriately.
- Ability and willingness to travel for approximately three team retreats per year.
- Professional-level English proficiency, with all application materials submitted in English.
- Candidates who do not meet every listed qualification but can demonstrate strong potential and relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Benefits:
- Annual salary of $105,000–$140,000 USD, depending on seniority.
- Salary adjustment of up to 21% for successful candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Salary adjustment of up to 10% for candidates based in Washington, DC or New York City.
- Location-based salary adjustments in certain countries with particularly high employment costs; reductions may be 10%, or 20% in Brazil, Sweden, or France.
- Compensation may be paid in local currency, with conversions generally based on one-year average exchange rates.
- Fully remote work environment with flexible working hours.
- Competitive global benefits package, including comprehensive health insurance and locally applicable supplemental benefits.
- Life insurance and pension benefits where applicable based on country requirements.
- Generous paid time off, including no specific annual PTO limit, with 30 days protected annually.
- Unlimited personal and sick leave.
- Four months of paid parental leave for permanent employees with at least 12 months of tenure, prorated for shorter tenure.
- Flexible and generous expense policy covering equipment, productivity tools, and learning and development opportunities.
- Unlimited spending on AI tools, subject to applicable regulations and manager approval.
- Access to well-equipped offices in Berkeley, California, including paid meals and a gym.
- Coworking space reimbursement where desired.
