Job Title: Senior Maintenance Planner
The Opportunity:
Barminco Mining Services USA has a great opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Planner to work at the mining project located in the northern part of Nevada.
Develop and maintain short- and long-term maintenance plans and schedules for Goldrush and Fourmile in line with Barminco strategies and operational requirements, while providing maintenance planning support to operations across the broader North American region, including Canada, as required. Identify and communicate labor, equipment, parts, services and contractor requirements and availability to support safe, reliable equipment performance and delivery against operational and budget expectations.. You must be able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate high level of organisational skills. The 5 day roster (5 days on – 2 days off) suits active individuals who value work-life balance.
Location: 65 Miles outside of Elko, Nevada
Shift: 5-day roster, Mon-Fri, 6:30am- 6:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and record statutory and regulatory maintenance requirements in accordance with Barminco procedures and applicable site requirements
- Develop short- and long-term maintenance schedules for Goldrush and Fourmile with the Senior Maintenance Superintendent and site maintenance teams, in line with Barminco's Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Cycle (1-12 week short-term schedule and 3-12 month forecast)
- Identify labor, equipment, parts, services and contractor requirements for planned work and address resource shortfalls with the Senior Maintenance Superintendent before schedules are issued
- Maintain the Pronto Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring plant records are current, work orders are raised correctly and completed work orders are closed promptly
- Manage and measure maintenance backlogs with relevant supervisors, ensuring open work is prioritized, appropriately dated, correctly statused and progressed through the relevant planning phases
- Review weekly schedule performance, document reasons for non-delivery and work with stakeholders to remove recurring constraints
- Screen work requests and work orders, confirm job scope and requirements (including safety hazards), and determine the appropriate level of planning.
- Plan work in Pronto with clear job instructions and supporting documentation, including work instructions, safe work procedures, standards, OEM documentation/specifications and engineering drawings, so work can be completed safely and efficiently.
- Requisition materials, equipment, services, specialized tools and contractor resources required for planned work, ensuring contractor scopes are complete and understood.
- Ensure third-party work has an approved scope and corresponding Purchase Order before work is performed.
- Manage changes to external supplier scopes, including required Purchase Order amendments and approvals.
- Develop and update estimates for labor type and hours, materials, services and Work Order duration in collaboration with the work requester and maintenance supervision.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Project, Word and Outlook.
- Experience and working knowledge of Pronto (or a similar CMMS), including maintenance planning, scheduling, Work Order management and costing.
- Demonstrated experience in a maintenance planning/scheduling function, preferably within underground mining or heavy mobile equipment maintenance
- Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision while coordinating effectively across multiple sites and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning principles, backlog management, resource requirements, parts/materials planning and service scheduling.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and prioritization skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a practical stakeholder and customer focus.
- Relevant trade, technical or maintenance qualification suitable for a maintenance planning role, or equivalent demonstrated maintenance planning experience.
- Current and valid driver's license.
- Current and valid national police clearance.
Work Conditions / Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to communicate verbally, sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, push/pull, manipulate objects and work in awkward positions.
- Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are required.
- Visual requirements include ability to identify small font numbers and letters along with distinguishing between different colors.
- Must be able to work in potentially extreme climates including heat over 80 degrees and cold below 60 degrees on a semi-infrequent basis
- May experience noise level in the work environment from moderate to high.
