Job Description

Email Operations Team Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Email Operations Team Manager based in United States.

This leadership role owns the strategic and operational direction of email and push notification programs across a growing multi-product SaaS environment. You will connect lifecycle marketing, retention, personalization, and revenue objectives to build programs that measurably improve customer value. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on ownership of segmentation, journey design, attribution, data requirements, and automation. You will work closely with Product, Data, Demand Generation, and Email Development teams to turn behavioral signals into scalable lifecycle experiences. You will also lead a team of email marketing specialists while ensuring strong execution, deliverability, and list health. This is an opportunity to shape a long-term email roadmap and use AI-driven tooling to personalize communication at significant scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Own email-channel-attributed revenue as a business outcome, defining how email contributes to customer lifetime value, retention, and expansion.
  • Define email and push notification strategies in alignment with broader product and marketing objectives.
  • Lead coordinated churn-prevention and win-back initiatives using behavioral signals and lifecycle data rather than isolated campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain the long-term email roadmap, auditing existing programs, identifying gaps and quick wins, and prioritizing initiatives against revenue objectives.
  • Define the role of email within multi-channel orchestration, establishing effective boundaries and handoffs between email, in-product messaging, and other channels.
  • Translate behavioral signals, predictive churn scores, and lifecycle classifications into actionable segmentation logic and program triggers.
  • Define data requirements for email programs, including required user signals, cohort definitions, and event triggers, and coordinate these needs with data engineering teams.
  • Own the email team's contribution to revenue attribution, partnering with data teams to establish lifecycle KPIs and validate email's contribution under evolving attribution models.
  • Develop and maintain email dashboards with data teams, ensuring reporting accurately reflects email performance and revenue contribution throughout the customer funnel.
  • Apply generative and agentic AI tools to drive personalization and automation across a large subscriber base.
  • Manage and develop three email marketing specialists by setting priorities, coaching execution quality, and connecting daily activities to strategic lifecycle goals.
  • Coordinate with email development, data, demand generation, and product stakeholders to deliver end-to-end lifecycle programs.
  • Maintain, optimize, rebuild, or retire automated email journeys across multiple products based on performance data and business priorities.
  • Ensure strong email deliverability and list health across a large, multi-product subscriber base.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in email marketing, retention marketing, or lifecycle marketing with a strong email focus, ideally within B2C or B2B SaaS or subscription products at scale.
  • Proven experience owning an email, retention, or lifecycle program end-to-end, including strategy, journey design, segmentation, and KPI ownership rather than execution alone.
  • Familiarity with attribution models, including attribution windows, email performance measurement, and transitions between attribution frameworks.
  • Experience using behavioral data and predictive models for segmentation, including churn scoring or lifecycle-stage classification.
  • Hands-on experience with a major marketing automation or email platform such as Braze, Klaviyo, Iterable, Marketo, HubSpot, or an equivalent internal platform.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, data engineering, and other technical teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking at the program level, with the ability to connect lifecycle initiatives to broader business and revenue objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with dashboards and data-warehouse-sourced data to independently identify lifecycle insights.
  • Solid understanding of email deliverability and list health at scale, ideally with experience managing audiences of 100,000+ subscribers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher English proficiency, both written and spoken.
  • Experience working within a multi-product or multi-brand environment is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.

Benefits:

  • Flexible working environment with remote and hybrid work options depending on location.
  • Ability to work remotely from many countries or from offices in the United States, Poland, Romania, or Ukraine.
  • Competitive compensation aligned with local market conditions and experience.
  • Performance-based bonus system and stock options.
  • Professional development opportunities through courses, conferences, and learning resources.
  • Opportunities for career growth and internal mobility.
  • Country-specific health and wellness benefits, including health coverage and fitness options.
  • Quarterly company-wide Mental Health Days.
  • Family-friendly culture with flexibility for parents, family events, and children's programs.
  • Support for charitable initiatives through a global employee giving program.
  • Open communication culture with opportunities to engage with leadership and influence company growth.
  • Source job description does not specify a salary range.
