Director, Contract Administration

As Director, Contract Administration, you will have experience in supervising and training staff in investigations, analyses, reporting, and construction observation. Business development for existing and new clients will be an integral part of the position. You will be a leader within WSB and provide direction to Contract Admin staff and to other Groups within the Construction Division and within WSB.In this role you will be a critical part of our business development team and interact with existing clients and work to bring in new clients.

What You Will Do:

  • Direct WSBs Northern MN Contract Administration team to manage and deliver successful projects, while leading proposal development process, staff scheduling and management.
  • Possess knowledge of design standards and generate business and perform work to grow the business and opportunities for WSB.
  • Lead projects and teams following State & Federal Contract Administration processes and procedures.
  • Provide experienced project management, oversight, and administration on a variety of Federal, State, County and City construction projects and contracts, along verifying compliance with the plans and specifications, prepare pay estimates, and produce project documentation for private, municipal, county, MNDOT and federal projects.
  • You will be responsible for achieving revenue goals, profit margins and developing a team.
  • You will build a highly efficient, self-sustainable team of professionals with strong client focus.
  • Ensure a high-quality project is delivered to our clients.
  • Exude strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution.
  • Honesty and integrity, sense of ownership, collaboration, persistence, organization, and planning are all expectations of the person in this role.
  • Possessing a strong understanding of the construction industry in general, and construction project delivery.
  • Setting clear expectations for the team and individual team members, and creating a culture of accountability.
  • Project management - tracking scope, schedule, quality and budget.
  • Business Development - Identifying, attracting, and securing a new, diverse client base.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Civil Engineering serving as a Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in the state of Minnesota is preferred but not required with an existing network of construction industry related clients.
  • 10+ years of experience providing civil engineering services.
  • The successful candidate must possess a valid drivers license along with a clean driving record and can work in a variety of locations.
