Assistant Controller/Finance Manager, Financial Analysis
Position Overview
The Assistant Controller / Finance Manager plays a key role in the financial leadership of the organization, supporting the Controller and Finance leadership team in managing daytoday accounting operations, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting, and driving operational excellence across the finance function. This position oversees key accounting processes, supports budgeting and forecasting activities, leads monthend close, and provides financial insights that help guide business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL maintenance, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
- Manage the monthend and yearend close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial schedules.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and process clarity.
- Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Partner with crossfunctional teams to support financial analysis, cost tracking, and operational improvements.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting cycles; monitor variances and provide actionable insights.
- Help implement and optimize financial systems, tools, and reporting automation.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff; promote continuous improvement and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and audit processes.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fastpaced environment.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
