Job Description

In this hands-on Human Resources Generalist role, you will support associates and leaders across the employee lifecycle while helping HR programs run accurately, consistently, and with care. This role is a strong fit for an HR professional who has broad generalist experience, enjoys variety, builds trust through responsive service, and can move comfortably between an office setting and operational locations. You will partner with the HR Manager and department leaders on day-to-day needs, continuous improvement, engagement, and special projects.

Your Typical Week:

Onboarding:

  • Provide full-cycle onboarding & orientation support, including new-hire processing, compliance administration, and New Associate Orientation facilitation.
  • Assist associates at different stages of the employee lifecycle and connect them with the right HR resources.
  • Maintain accurate employee databases, records, and reports.

Engagement, Education and Associate Relations:

  • Answer routine associate questions about organizational policies, procedures, benefits, and HR processes.
  • Build positive working relationships and learn the needs of assigned business segments.
  • Support the HR Manager with employee relations matters, including workplace investigations when concerns are raised.
  • Partner with the HR Manager on termination matters and conduct exit interviews as needed.
  • Help coordinate associate recognition and engagement activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve organizational efficiency, associate education, and engagement.
  • Assist with the development and modification of training programs.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts on cross-functional projects and special assignments.

Employment Lifecycle and Compliance

  • Provide backup support across payroll, onboarding, benefits, talent acquisition, and compliance.
  • As needed, review electronic timecards and support accurate, timely payroll processing.
  • Aid in preparation of various HR reports and analytics that support informed decision making and strategic planning by leadership.
  • Help associates with benefits enrollment and vendor service questions.
  • Assist with DOT processing and file management.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Communicate relevant workplace updates to assigned client groups as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the organization’s mission by completing other duties as assigned.

Team Support and Additional Duties:

  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
  • This role flexes between corporate support and time embedded within operations.
  • Local travel within Southeast Georgia is expected, approximately 25% to 50% per month, to support our workforce.
  • Occasional weekend work may be needed for special events.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or proven direct experience with independent proficiency across HR functional areas.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive, related HR experience, including talent acquisition, payroll, benefits, and employee relations.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor with associates.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, facilitation, conflict resolution, and organizational influence skills.
  • Ability to create and analyze trends and metrics for assigned client groups.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under the organization’s vehicle insurance policy.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Southeast Georgia Territory.
  • Ability to sit, stand, grasp, push pull, lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
