Qualifications

Required
  • Valid BC Trailer Mechanic certification, Red Seal Certification, CVSE/CVIP Certification, or a combination of these credentials

  • Strong diagnostic and repair experience on commercial trailers

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Assets

  • Red Seal Endorsement

  • CVSE/CVIP Certification

  • Experience working with refrigerated trailers (reefers)

  • Welding and fabrication experience

  • Experience with fleet maintenance software

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair commercial trailers and related systems

  • Troubleshoot electrical, brake, suspension, landing gear, and air systems

  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections

  • Complete and maintain CVIP inspections and maintenance records

  • Diagnose and repair refrigeration-related trailer components where applicable

  • Repair body damage and replace trailer components as required

  • Maintain accurate repair records using computer software

  • Monitor and manage shop inventory as required

  • Maintain company equipment and tools in safe working condition

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections

  • Report safety concerns and repair requirements to the Shop Supervisor

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

  • Maintain professional and respectful communication with drivers, supervisors, and team members

Equipment You'll Work On

  • Dry Van Trailers

  • Refrigerated (Reefer) Trailers

  • Coupling and Hitch Systems

  • Tires, Wheels, Hubs, and Axles

  • Brake and Suspension Systems

  • Electrical Systems

  • Heating and Refrigeration Systems

You will work with a well-maintained fleet of more than 200 trailers, providing a diverse and challenging work environment.
