Job Description

Full-stack engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Full-stack Engineer based in Canada.

As a Full-stack Engineer, you’ll play a hands-on role in building software that connects innovative health and wellness technology with digital experiences. You’ll contribute across the stack, from connected-device backend infrastructure to mobile application features. Your work will directly shape products used by customers and help bring new ideas from user needs to production-ready software. You’ll collaborate closely with leadership, designers, technical specialists, and external manufacturing partners. This is an opportunity to work in a young, remote-first environment built around trust, transparency, and execution. You’ll have significant ownership over technical solutions and the autonomy to move projects forward with limited day-to-day guidance. The role is ideal for an independent engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and turning ideas into impactful products.

Accountabilities
  • Lead development and ongoing improvements of backend systems supporting connected devices.

  • Design, develop, and deploy robust full-stack software solutions across web, backend, and mobile environments.

  • Build and implement new features for the mobile application, with a strong focus on user experience and customer value.

  • Translate user needs and product requirements into reliable, scalable, and maintainable software.

  • Write, test, debug, and secure code across the connected technology platform.

  • Contribute to technical architecture, solution design, and engineering decisions.

  • Identify technical challenges and independently develop effective solutions.

  • Collaborate with leadership, design, technical team members, and other stakeholders to move projects from concept to implementation.

  • Help ensure software quality, security, reliability, and performance across the platform.

  • Take ownership of technical initiatives and deliver results with limited day-to-day supervision.

Requirements
  • Strong, demonstrable proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and React Native.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in frontend web development.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in backend web development.

  • Strong ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership of technical solutions.

  • Comfortable operating in an environment with limited day-to-day guidance and a high degree of autonomy.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to turn product and user needs into practical technical solutions.

  • Experience with IoT or web-enabled devices is a strong plus.

  • Experience with NoSQL databases and schema design is a plus.

  • Experience with mobile application development is a plus.

  • A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is preferred.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with leadership and cross-functional technical and creative teams.

  • A pragmatic, ownership-oriented approach to engineering, with an emphasis on efficient use of tools and resources.

  • Candidates are encouraged to be transparent about their strengths and experience rather than trying to present a perfect match for every qualification.

Benefits
  • Full-time employment.

  • Remote-first working environment.

  • Canada-based role, with the broader team generally located in Montreal.

  • Industry-competitive salary based on experience and interview performance.

  • Opportunity to work directly with leadership and cross-functional technical teams.

  • Significant autonomy and ownership over technical solutions.

  • Opportunity to contribute to connected-device technology and personalized mobile experiences.

  • Fast-moving environment focused on trust, transparency, and execution.
