This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP of People Operations based in the United States.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a seasoned people and talent professional to shape how a fast-growing, mission-driven organization attracts, develops, and retains world-class talent. In this role, you will own the end-to-end people and recruiting ecosystem, building scalable systems that support rapid organizational growth in a remote-first, contractor-heavy environment. You will partner closely with executive leadership to design and optimize hiring pipelines, performance frameworks, onboarding experiences, and workforce strategies that enable long-term scale. The role blends strategic HR leadership with hands-on recruiting execution, requiring someone who can operate fluently across both talent acquisition and people operations. You will also play a critical role in strengthening employer brand, improving hiring velocity, and ensuring a high-quality candidate and employee experience. This is an opportunity to directly influence company culture, team performance, and organizational structure at a pivotal stage of growth.
- Own the full talent acquisition function, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, test projects, and closing top talent across multiple concurrent roles in a fast-paced environment.
- Design and optimize scalable recruiting systems that ensure consistent pipeline flow, strong candidate quality, and efficient hiring across all business functions.
- Lead structured interview processes, group interviews, and case study evaluations to ensure objective and high-quality hiring decisions.
- Build and manage sourcing channels, candidate pipelines, and “always-on hiring” strategies for recurring and high-priority roles.
- Oversee employer brand reputation, including Glassdoor monitoring, review strategy, and proactive engagement to maintain a strong external perception.
- Develop and deliver hiring analytics, funnel reporting, and weekly performance insights across sourcing channels and roles.
- Partner with leadership to design and implement end-to-end people operations systems, including onboarding, performance management, and retention frameworks.
- Lead organizational design and workforce planning efforts to ensure alignment with company growth and scaling objectives.
- Establish performance evaluation systems, development pathways, and leadership enablement frameworks across the organization.
- Ensure compliance, contractor management, and risk mitigation within a distributed, contractor-based workforce model.
- Collaborate with external partners and service providers to support and enhance people operations infrastructure.
Talent Acquisition KPIs:
- Maintain average time-to-fill under 45 days.
- Ensure 250+ qualified applicants per active role weekly.
- Deliver 100% on-time weekly hiring pipeline reporting by channel.
- Maintain 15+ completed candidate case studies per role weekly.
- Sustain a 4.5+ Glassdoor rating year-round.
People Operations KPIs:
- Implement scalable people systems supporting organizational growth.
- Improve employee retention, engagement, and performance outcomes.
- Strengthen leadership confidence in talent readiness and organizational structure.
- Establish predictable, high-functioning people operations aligned with business growth.
This role requires a highly operational, systems-oriented people leader with deep recruiting expertise and proven experience building scalable HR infrastructure in fast-moving, remote-first environments. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable closing difficult hires, designing organizational systems, and managing workforce complexity in a contractor-driven model. You are hands-on, execution-focused, and able to move seamlessly between strategic planning and day-to-day hiring operations.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in HR, People Operations, or Talent Acquisition leadership roles.
- 3–5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in remote, e-commerce, or high-growth environments.
- Proven success hiring across marketing, operations, product, e-commerce, and leadership roles.
- Hands-on experience running structured interviews, test projects, and multi-stage candidate evaluations.
- Strong ability to manage multiple open roles simultaneously (5–10+) without compromising quality or speed.
- Experience building recruiting systems using tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Workable, Notion, ClickUp, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to build hiring metrics dashboards, reporting systems, and data-driven recruiting processes.
- Strong writing and communication skills for job descriptions, outreach, and candidate engagement.
- Experience managing employer brand reputation, including responding to public feedback and strengthening perception.
- Deep understanding of contractor-based workforce models, compliance considerations, and employment risk management.
- Experience designing and scaling people systems such as onboarding, performance frameworks, and retention programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive organizational alignment.
- Fully remote-first work environment with flexible working arrangements.
- Competitive compensation aligned with senior leadership responsibilities.
- Paid time off and company holidays.
- Access to learning resources and professional development opportunities.
- Free access to company products.
- Direct collaboration with executive leadership, including frequent exposure to senior decision-makers.
- Opportunity to shape people strategy and organizational structure at scale.
- Mission-driven culture focused on creativity, trust, and long-term impact.
- Stability within an established, fast-growing, family-founded organization.
