Feed Truck Driver in Hutchinson, Kansas at Central Prairie Co-op

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service, delivering bulk feed and bagged feed to customers, assist in feed manufacturing processes as assigned and servicing and repairing tanks. Promotes company and branch location employee cohesiveness through effective communication, teamwork and shared services, as well as provides maximum service to members and patrons.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes the following and other duties may be assigned)

• Read and follow company employee policies.
• Sells and delivers feed products handled by the cooperative.
• Load feed trucks per customer orders and follow established procedures to meet FDA Good Manufacturing Practices, Central Prairie Co-op’s Feed Quality Assurance and feed plant requirements.
• Take all necessary precautions to prevent contamination of feed products and deliver product to the correct location/bin.
• Inspect feed products while loading and unloading and immediately notify plant management of any quality related situations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle per DOT and Central Prairie Co-op’s requirements. Promptly report any equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Responsible for ensuring that interior and exterior of trucks is neat, clean and in good condition and report to supervisor any issues that may need resolution.
• Responsible for maintenance on trucks and feed equipment.
• Drive and operate equipment in a manner so as not to harm the delivery vehicle, yourself, fellow workers, customers, customer property and the general public.
• Accurately complete and maintain records (Bulk Truck Delivery Records, Feed Productions Records, Vehicle Inspection Reports, and other mill documents) in a neat and orderly manner.
• Promote new products and services to customers; assist with stocking, inventory and advertising of all products.
• Perform customer check out using point of sale system and/or writing tickets.
• Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the shop work area as qualified.
• Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations; responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meeting commitments.
• Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees and management.
• Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
• Complies with all state and federal laws, codes and regulations.
• Present a clean and professional appearance.
• Employee is required to perform all other duties as assigned.
