About the RoleThe Banquet Wait Staff position is an on-call role that supports banquet events, weddings, meetings, conferences, and other scheduled functions. Hours are based on event needs and may vary from week to week. This position does not have a regular set schedule, and employees are contacted as events are scheduled and staffing needs are identified.
Banquet Wait Staff play an important role in delivering exceptional dining experiences during events and functions. This position is responsible for setting up banquet areas, serving food and beverages, and providing attentive, courteous service to guests throughout the event.
This role helps create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the guest experience and supports the reputation of Shanty Creek Resorts. Banquet Wait Staff are also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in dining and event spaces while ensuring service standards are consistently met.
The success of each banquet event relies heavily on the professionalism, teamwork, flexibility, and efficiency of the Banquet Wait Staff.
Schedule- This is an on-call position
- Hours are based on scheduled banquet events and business needs
- Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- There is no guaranteed number of hours per week
- Employees must be available to work as needed for events
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or a related role
- Ability to work an on-call schedule based on event needs
- Experience in banquet service or large event catering
- Food safety certification
- Responsible beverage service certification
- Flexible availability for events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Set up banquet tables and dining areas according to event specifications
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with event flow and respond to guest needs during banquets
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and event areas throughout the event
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, event coordinators, and team members to ensure smooth service
- Provide friendly, professional, and courteous service to all guests
- Assist with cleanup and resetting of banquet spaces after events as needed
- Report to scheduled on-call shifts on time and prepared to work
- Flexibility: Able to work varying shifts based on banquet and event needs.
- Communication: Interacts professionally with guests, team members, kitchen staff, and event coordinators.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures banquet areas are properly set up and service standards are followed.
- Time Management: Handles multiple tasks efficiently during busy events.
- Customer Service: Creates a welcoming and positive guest experience.
