Job Description

Position Summary
The Assistant Clinical Director supports the Clinical Director in overseeing the delivery of high-quality behavioral health services across FSC programs. This position provides clinical leadership, supervision, staff development, quality assurance oversight, and operational support to ensure compliance with agency policies, licensing requirements, funding standards, and best practices in behavioral health care.
The Assistant Clinical Director works collaboratively with program leadership, therapists, case managers, community partners, and administrative staff to ensure effective service delivery, positive client outcomes, and a trauma-informed culture that aligns with FSC's mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Supervision
•Assist the Clinical Director in overseeing daily clinical operations across behavioral health programs.
•Provide clinical supervision and consultation to licensed and associate-level clinicians as assigned.
•Review and monitor clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with agency standards.
•Support clinicians with case consultation, crisis intervention, risk assessment, and treatment planning.
•Facilitate regular case staffing meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
•Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and professional development of clinical staff.

Quality Assurance & Compliance
•Monitor compliance with state licensing requirements, Medicaid standards, grant requirements, and FSC policies.
•Conduct chart audits and documentation reviews to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
•Identify areas for improvement and assist in implementing corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives.
•Support preparation for audits, site visits, accreditation reviews, and funding agency monitoring.
•Ensure adherence to confidentiality requirements, HIPAA regulations, and ethical standards.

Program Operations
•Assist with managing clinician caseload distribution and service delivery expectations.
•Monitor program performance metrics, productivity standards, and outcome measures.
•Collaborate with leadership to improve workflow efficiencies and client access to services.
•Support implementation of new programs, policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices.
•Participate in strategic planning and program development initiatives.

Clinical Leadership, Supervision & Education Development
•Assist the Clinical Director in overseeing daily clinical operations across behavioral health programs.
•Provide clinical supervision and consultation to licensed and associate-level clinicians as assigned.
•Review and monitor clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with agency standards.
•Support clinicians with case consultation, crisis intervention, risk assessment, and treatment planning.
•Facilitate regular case staffing meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
•Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and professional development of clinical staff.
•Oversee the educational development and training experience of clinical interns, ensuring compliance with academic requirements, agency standards, and professional ethics.
•Develop, coordinate, and evaluate learning opportunities, supervision activities, and competency-based training plans for clinical interns.
•Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development support to Prevention Specialists to strengthen service delivery, evidence-based prevention practices, and community engagement efforts.
•Collaborate with universities, training institutions, and community partners to support internship placements and workforce development initiatives.
•Monitor intern and Prevention Specialist performance, provide feedback, and assist in developing individualized growth and learning plans.

Prevention Program Oversight
•Provide leadership and oversight for Prevention Specialists delivering evidence-based prevention services in schools, community settings, and partner organizations.
•Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of prevention groups, educational workshops, and community outreach initiatives.
•Ensure prevention programming aligns with grant requirements, agency goals, and evidence-based prevention models.
•Monitor program quality, fidelity, and outcomes to ensure effective service delivery and positive community impact.
•Collaborate with school districts, community organizations, and stakeholders to identify prevention needs and strengthen partnerships.
•Assist Prevention Specialists with curriculum development, group facilitation strategies, and participant engagement.
•Review prevention program documentation, data collection, and reporting requirements for accuracy and compliance.
•Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities for Prevention Specialists.
•Support the development of new prevention initiatives that address behavioral health, substance use prevention, youth development, and family wellness needs within the community.
•Assist with grant implementation, performance measures, and outcome reporting related to prevention services.
Staff Development
•Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting clinical staff.
•Provide coaching, performance feedback, and support for employee development.
•Identify training needs and coordinate clinical education opportunities.
•Promote a collaborative, trauma-informed, and client-centered work environment.

Community & Agency Collaboration
•Represent FSC at community meetings, coalitions, and partner organizations as assigned.
•Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with referral sources and community stakeholders.
•Assist with grant-related activities, reporting requirements, and program evaluations.
•Support agency-wide initiatives and organizational goals.

Crisis Response
•Provide consultation and support during behavioral health crises.
•Assist clinicians with safety planning and risk management.
•Ensure proper documentation and follow-up of critical incidents.

Qualifications

Education
•Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field required.

Licensure
•Current Texas clinical licensure required (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist).
•Clinical Supervisor designation preferred or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe.

Experience
•Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, counseling, or social services.
•Minimum of 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or program management experience preferred.
•Experience working with children, families, trauma, crisis intervention, and community-based services preferred.
•Experience with Medicaid, grant-funded programs, and behavioral health compliance standards preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Strong knowledge of behavioral health treatment modalities and evidence-based practices.
•Ability to provide clinical supervision and consultation.
•Knowledge of HIPAA, ethics, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements.
•Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
•Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
•Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements
•Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
•Ability to travel locally for meetings, trainings, and community events.
