Fractional Sales Consultant - Education Partnerships

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Fractional Sales Consultant – Education Partnerships based in India.

Take on a high-impact, entrepreneurial sales role focused on expanding access to student mental health and wellness solutions across India’s higher education sector.
You will leverage your institutional network and executive relationships to open doors with universities, colleges, and education groups.
The role combines business development, consultative selling, executive relationship building, and strategic market development.
You’ll engage directly with senior decision-makers, including Vice Chancellors, Founders, Trustees, Owners, and academic leaders.
Your work will help build a strong institutional partnership pipeline while contributing to measurable improvements in student wellbeing.
As a fractional consultant, you’ll enjoy significant autonomy while working closely with a leadership team to shape account strategies and accelerate growth.
This is an opportunity for an experienced education sales professional to combine commercial success with meaningful social impact.

Accountabilities:
  • Proactively identify and engage private universities, colleges, and higher education institutions across India, with a focus on institutions with more than 5,000 students.
  • Develop targeted outreach strategies across education segments including Law, Medical, Engineering, Management, Liberal Arts, and other higher education categories.
  • Build, manage, and continuously qualify a pipeline of prospective institutional partners.
  • Map organizational structures and identify key decision-makers, influencers, and budget holders within target institutions.
  • Build executive-level relationships with Vice Chancellors, Chancellors, Founders, Owners, Trustees, Governing Board Members, Registrars, Deans, and Student Affairs or Wellness leaders.
  • Secure qualified meetings and presentations with senior stakeholders who have purchasing authority and influence over institutional partnerships.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand institutional priorities and challenges related to student wellbeing and mental health.
  • Support solution discussions, proposals, presentations, and commercial negotiations in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Clearly communicate the solution’s mission, value proposition, and measurable impact to prospective institutional partners.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach, meetings, opportunities, and pipeline progression.
  • Participate in weekly business reviews and provide clear updates on outreach activity, meetings, pipeline status, conversion progress, risks, and opportunities.
  • Share market intelligence relating to student wellness initiatives, accreditation requirements, competitive activity, and changing institutional priorities.
  • Help refine target-account strategies and go-to-market approaches based on market feedback and conversion performance.
  • Work toward minimum monthly outcomes of 5 qualified institutional opportunities, 4 qualified senior-stakeholder meetings, and at least 1 meeting per week with a high-level decision-maker.
  • Contribute to measurable commercial outcomes, including meeting-to-proposal conversion, proposal-to-contract conversion, and total contract value influenced or closed.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, enterprise sales, institutional sales, or a comparable commercial role.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior leadership and decision-makers within educational institutions.
  • An established network across private universities, deemed universities, medical colleges, law universities, engineering institutions, educational trusts, or university governing bodies is strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling B2B services, consulting solutions, EdTech, HRTech, health tech, or impact-driven programs is advantageous.
  • Strong executive presence with excellent verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Proven ability to engage confidently with C-level executives, founders, trustees, Vice Chancellors, Chancellors, and senior academic leadership.
  • Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to uncover institutional needs and connect them to appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent networking, relationship-building, negotiation, and opportunity-development capabilities.
  • Strong commercial judgment and an understanding of enterprise sales and institutional purchasing processes.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a pipeline, prioritize opportunities, and consistently deliver measurable outcomes in a fractional and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, organized, and comfortable operating with significant autonomy.
  • A genuine interest in student wellbeing, mental health, education, and social impact is highly valued.
Benefits:
  • Fractional and flexible engagement model designed for experienced sales and partnership professionals.
  • Fixed monthly retainer, mutually agreed based on experience and scope.
  • Performance-based incentive: 5% of contract value upon successful contract execution/signing, payable once the first client payment of at least 10% is received.
  • Significant performance-based earning potential, particularly given typical institutional contract values of approximately 2–3 crore.
  • Opportunity to contribute to meaningful social impact and improve mental wellbeing outcomes for students across India.
  • Opportunity to work closely with the founding and leadership team.
  • Potential opportunity to become part of the core team as the organization grows.
  • High level of autonomy and ownership over business development activities.
  • Opportunity to build strategic partnerships across India’s higher education ecosystem.
