POSITION SUMMARY: This position will perform basic duties in all the finishing department work centers based on production requirements. These areas include buffing, coating, printing, and deburring. Operator needs to be aware of, and adhere to, all safety and environmental requirements. This includes general communication with the other shifts as well as completing required reporting via the logbook at the various workstations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to lift cymbals and dies weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must push/pull carts weighing 600 to 1000 pounds
- Ability to read work instructions and oven sheets
- Maintain established quality and quantity standards. Follow prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision
- Maintain work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition
- Maintain daily production and other records as required
- Aid other team members as requested by team leader
- Perform other related duties as required or directed, inform team leader on supplies and communicate with all other shifts
- Buff cymbals to brilliant finish
- Wipe cymbal free of all buffing compound residue with a rag wearing cloth gloves
- Set up of the robot and buffing machine, ability to change and adjust the buffing wheels, changing of the dies
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may be required to perform other non-essential functions. Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by their supervisor.

EDUCATION, TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires High School diploma or equivalent. Over 3 months up to and including 12 months in a manufacturing environment.
TECHNICAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, and/or LICENSES: Aware of OSHA & Safety procedures.
REASONING ABILITY: Requires the use of some judgment to comply with instructions and standard procedures, methods or practices involving the making of minor decisions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Requires reading, writing, adding, subtracting, simple arithmetic involved and the carrying out of instructions and direct reading of instruments and devices in which interpretation is not required.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS and/or PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift 50 lbs. Spend time bending or twisting the body, making repetitive motions, standing, and using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. Continuous mental and visual attention is required due to repetitive work and diversified operations in a high complexity environment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee is/or may be exposed dust, dirt, heat, fumes, noise, vibration, water, and oil but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable. Employees are required to wear safety glasses, safety gloves and ear protection as well as other PPE specific to their activities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY (If Applicable): This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
