Trucking People is hiring Fleet Operations & Vehicle Readiness Technicians on behalf of our client, an industry leader in autonomous vehicle technology.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in fleet operations, automotive service, logistics, military vehicle operations, EVs, or technical support who enjoy working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

You'll be responsible for ensuring autonomous vehicles are fully prepared, mission-ready, and operating safely before each testing and service shift.

Pay & Schedule

Pay

  • $34.00 per hour

Available Shifts

Day Shift
  • Tuesday – Saturday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Saturday – Wednesday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Afternoon Shift
  • Wednesday – Sunday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • Thursday – Monday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Overnight Shift
  • Sunday – Thursday | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
What You'll Do

As a Fleet Operations & Vehicle Readiness Technician, you'll play a vital role in supporting daily fleet operations and ensuring autonomous vehicles are prepared for testing and service.

Fleet Operations
  • Prepare vehicles for daily testing and operations
  • Coordinate vehicle movement between operating locations
  • Stage vehicles for deployment
  • Maintain organized fleet parking areas
  • Transport equipment and supplies as needed
Vehicle Readiness
  • Clean and detail vehicles inside and out
  • Charge electric vehicles and supporting equipment
  • Verify vehicle readiness before deployment
  • Complete required inspection checklists
  • Ensure vehicles meet operational and regulatory requirements
Mission Preparation
  • Launch software across multiple onboard devices
  • Verify hardware and software configurations
  • Install software updates when required
  • Capture requested operational data
  • Troubleshoot basic issues and escalate when necessary
Inventory & Logistics
  • Organize and maintain spare parts inventory
  • Assist with receiving and transporting parts
  • Keep equipment organized and ready for deployment
  • Support inventory accuracy and documentation
Technical Support

Assist experienced technicians with:

  • Fluid changes
  • Basic component replacements
  • Wiring inspections
  • Vehicle preparation
  • General maintenance support
Test Operations Support

Provide operational assistance during testing by supporting:

  • Documentation
  • Pre-mission setup
  • Traffic control
  • Cone courses
  • Support vehicle driving
  • Vehicle recovery operations when required
QualificationsRequired
  • 2–4 years of professional work experience
  • Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
  • Ability to pass:
    • Background check
    • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
    • Drug screening (including marijuana)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with computers and mobile devices
  • Safety-focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs, and working on your feet throughout the shift
  • Ability to travel occasionally (less than 30%)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Automotive trade school certificate or Associate Degree
  • Automotive repair or fleet maintenance experience
  • Electric vehicle experience
  • Military vehicle maintenance or operations experience
  • Fleet operations or logistics background
  • Experience with:
    • Jira
    • Confluence
    • Microsoft Office
    • Google Workspace
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Experience working around advanced vehicle technologies
