The Assistant Director of Admissions, Marketing and Communications supports Clark University's enrollment objectives through the integration of student recruitment, admissions communications, and marketing initiatives. This position manages a recruitment territory, represents the University at recruitment events, develops and coordinates prospective student communications, and collaborates with campus partners to enhance student engagement and support enrollment growth.

The Assistant Director contributes to the planning and execution of strategic communication campaigns, admissions marketing efforts, and recruitment initiatives designed to increase awareness of Clark University and strengthen prospective student conversion throughout the enrollment funnel.

Travel and Recruitment:

  • 6-8 Weeks of recruitment in the Fall with some sporadic Spring Travel.
  • Research trends in assigned geographic territory and plan all logistics associated with recruitment travel within assigned territory and other regions as needed.
  • Travel to college fairs, high school visits, alumni events and other off campus recruitment activities as needed.
  • Communicate with prospective students and families, school counselors in assigned geographic regions.
  • Conduct student interviews with prospective students while traveling.

Marketing & Communications

  • Support the development, implementation, and assessment of admissions communication plans across email, print, web, social media, and other digital channels.
  • Create, review, and maintain admissions-related content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with institutional messaging.

First-Year Fall Application Review:

  • Read, evaluate, rate and make recommendations to the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid and the Admissions Committee on applicants from assigned geographic territories and others assigned by the Director of Admissions.
  • Make judgments on the admissibility of student applicants on the basis of institutional policy and independent analysis of applicant potential for success.

Enrollment Events & Yield Initiatives

  • Coordinate and support recruitment programs, open houses, admitted student events, webinars, and other enrollment-focused initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to produce and distribute promotional materials and event communication.

Data Management, Reporting, & Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate records within CRM and communication systems, analyze campaign and recruitment results, prepare reports, support process improvement initiatives, and perform other related duties consistent with the scope and level of responsibility of the position.

Counselor of the Day Duty:

  • Serve as host and resource to all visiting students and families who visit Clark University on the dates of assigned Counselor of the Day duty coverage.
  • Conduct group information sessions and one on one admissions interviews.
  • Provide phone coverage on scheduled coverage days.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in admissions, enrollment management, marketing, communications, higher education, or a related field.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise sound professional judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and digital communication platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently.
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in undergraduate admissions, enrollment management, or student recruitment.
  • Experience utilizing Slate CRM or comparable enrollment management systems.
  • Experience with social media management, content development, email marketing, and digital advertising.
  • Familiarity with enrollment marketing strategies and prospective student communication planning.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office-based environment with regular interaction with students, families, and campus stakeholders.
  • Requires periodic travel for recruitment activities, conferences, and events.
  • Evening and weekend work required during peak recruitment and admissions periods.
  • Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to move throughout campus and external recruitment venues.
  • Ability to transport recruitment and event materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during recruitment events, college fairs, and presentations.


Additional Information:

Expected Hiring Range: $51,700 to $68,150

Pay Transparency Disclosure:
The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials. This range represents Clark University's good-faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting consistent with Clark's compensation philosophy and internal alignment.
