Account Manager - Outside Sales Northeast

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Account Manager - Outside Sales Northeast based in the United States.

As an Account Manager - Outside Sales Northeast, you will drive business growth by developing new customer relationships while expanding existing accounts across an assigned territory. This role combines strategic business development, consultative selling, and account management to deliver measurable revenue and profitability results. Working remotely with frequent travel throughout the Northeast region, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tailored solutions and exceptional customer experiences. You'll play a key role in identifying market opportunities, building long-term partnerships, and executing sales strategies that support sustained growth. Accountabilities
  • Own and grow an assigned sales territory by achieving revenue, volume, and profitability targets.
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities while expanding relationships within existing customer accounts.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that support long-term customer growth and market expansion.
  • Prepare, present, and negotiate proposals, pricing agreements, and commercial terms with prospective and existing customers.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and opportunity tracking using CRM tools.
  • Coordinate customer visits, product demonstrations, plant tours, and technical discussions to support business development efforts.
  • Collaborate with customer service, operations, supply chain, finance, and internal sales teams to ensure successful order execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve customer service, quality, and delivery issues by partnering with internal stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers across purchasing, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence during all customer interactions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Approximately 4–8 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management.
  • Proven success achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving new business development.
  • Experience in industrial packaging, manufacturing, distribution, or related industrial markets is preferred.
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Experience using CRM platforms to manage customer relationships, forecasting, and sales pipelines.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to develop profitable business opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with confidence presenting to executive stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
  • Must reside in Michigan or Ohio and be willing to travel frequently throughout the assigned Northeast territory, including overnight travel.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Typical hiring range between $130,000 and $160,000, depending on experience and location.
