Job Description
The Facilities Director is under the direction of the Casino General Manager/Lead Floor Manager. The Facilities Director oversees the Facilities Department, which consists of building maintenance, landscaping, janitorial maintenance, company vehicles, and shipping and receiving. Facilities oversees all these areas at Casino, Hotel, Event Center, and Wild River.
They are responsible for cooperating with all departments, assisting in all areas of maintenance, repairs, and set-up for special events. Maintain good working relationships with other management and ensure all objectives are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish goals, direction, and vision in the overall preventative maintenance and necessary replacement of end-of-life building support equipment.
- Develop and maintain the Facilities' operating budgets in the areas of maintenance, grounds, capital expense requests, cleaning supplies/outside services, and shipping/receiving.
- Direct the development, implementation, and assessment of Facilities policies and operational procedures.
- Coordinate the communication of operational procedures to the Facilities team and casino departments.
- Hire, train, supervise, schedule staff, and evaluate employees of the Facilities Department.
- Work cooperatively with the Director of Cocopah Public Works, Emergency Preparedness Director, and Cocopah/Somerton Fire Department.
- Manages the supply and demand of all casino supplies and equipment including servicing/repairs necessary for all company vehicles and lift equipment owned.
- Must learn and comply with the System of Minimum Internal Control Standards.
- Assures compliance with policies and procedures consistently.
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated increase in responsibilities during employment history.
- HVAC, electrical, and plumbing experience is a must.
- Some knowledge of commercial generators and water-cooled Chillers very helpful.
- Computer skills required, preferably with Microsoft Word and Excel, and able to work with software/hardware designed for facility maintenance.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals; ability to read blueprints and interpret existing as- built for the property.
- Skilled in written and oral communication necessary to prepare written and oral reports.
- Skilled in conducting staff meetings and independent training.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations as they relate to HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries.
- Ability to work in a smoking environment.
- Must learn and understand the requirements of the State Gaming Compact and operational policy and procedures that pertain to facilities.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Ability to operate a hand-held radio.
- Must be able to be certified by the Arizona Department of Gaming and the Tribal Gaming Office.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, facilities, or construction management, or a degree in another field with demonstrated leadership in facilities management at the level of Director or Assistant Director is required.
- 5 years of experience as a manager or director of building mechanical engineering and building maintenance, and previous management of large and complex budgets, projects, and organizations.
