Medical Assistant-Primary Care Office
FLSA Status: Non-exempt REPORTS TO: Office Manager
Full time 36-40 hours per week/ 4 days per wk/ 8a-6p Location: Blue Ridge, GA
Position Summary:
Georgia Mountains Health (GMH) is a non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), mission driven organization, committed to providing compassionate and quality health care to families in North Georgia. We believe in more than just treating patients and seek a mission-oriented candidate who understands the nuances of an FQHC and practice of using UDS measures for quality health care improvement.
The ideal candidate has experience in primary care/family practice working with all ages.
Duties include but not limited to: record patient medical histories, take vital statistics, collect specimens, give injections and draw blood and make detailed documentation. MA also prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments and assists physicians with procedures as needed. The MA will answer emails, voicemails and return patient calls in a timely manner. Coordinates and maintains in-bucket requests for prescription refills, test results, physician messages, etc. The candidate must also be comfortable with EMR database systems and general computer competency. Candidates must have good communication skills (both written and oral) and understand and demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of one year experience in primary health care/family care preferred.
- Comfortable working with all ages.
- English/Spanish bilingual highly desired.
- CPR certification required
- Satisfactory background check and drug test required.
Environmental/Occupational Exposure:
- Exposure to blood and body fluids, hazardous material and communicable disease.
- Appropriate protective equipment will be readily available and provided.
Physical Demands:
- Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment, spending 95% or more of time inside. Lifting up to 40 lbs and carrying some objects up to 25 lbs.
