About the Role:

Clubhouse Maintenance Technician

Shadow Wood Country Club is seeking a dependable, service-oriented Clubhouse Maintenance Technician to join our tenured, high-performing Facilities & Buildings team. This position is responsible for supporting the daily repair, maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the Club’s facilities and amenities.

The Technician will work closely with Department Managers, staff, vendors, and suppliers to ensure facilities, equipment, and common areas are properly maintained and consistently meet Shadow Wood’s high standards.

This is a hands-on position with regular interaction with Club members and guests. A positive attitude, professional appearance, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional service are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance throughout Club facilities and surrounding areas.
  • Complete light carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, refrigeration, and general repair projects.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment including ice machines, refrigeration units, fire pits, fountains, heaters, and other facility equipment.
  • Replace light bulbs and assist with parking lot lighting adjustments, upkeep, and timing.
  • Perform power washing and assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive Club environment.
  • Assist with lock replacement and repair, audio/visual setup, and general facility repairs.
  • Assist with fire alarm operation, maintenance, and regularly scheduled safety inspections.
  • Install and remove hurricane shutters and assist with storm preparation as needed.
  • Operate a Club vehicle for errands, hardware store trips, deliveries, and retrievals from storage facilities.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively with Department Managers, vendors, suppliers, members, and staff.
  • Complete assignments with minimal disruption to members and residents, always recognizing that members have the right of way.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain responsibility for assigned tools, equipment, uniforms, PPE, and other Club property.
  • Participate in ongoing safety and department training programs.
  • Support Shadow Wood’s commitment to environmental responsibility and the Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuary program.
  • Maintain a clean, healthy, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Facilities & Buildings Manager.

Candidate Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Previous experience in facility maintenance, building maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC/refrigeration, painting, or general mechanical repairs is highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Positive, professional, and service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact professionally and courteously with Club members, guests, coworkers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, and perform physical work for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in Southwest Florida weather conditions.
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, and emergency situations when necessary.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining excellent attendance.
  • Must comply with Shadow Wood Country Club’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
