JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
To teach and train consumers about appropriate work skills, social skills, and daily living skills. Also works directly with the participants by encouraging use of coping skills and replacement behaviors according to particiant’s Behavior Plan. Be an example by follow company policies, comply with safety rules, follow supervisor’s instructions and treat everyone with respect.
Essential Functions

- Provides support to assist people in achieving personal goals and desires, providing interaction and choices for activities that support a meaningful day, and support people to be independent in activities of daily living.
- Supports The Arc Southwest Indiana’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values while empowering consumer’s life choices.
- Reports and/or documents in daily logs, chrono’s, check out consumers according to list and do notes and task elements daily.
- Completes all training as needed for participant care, consumer specific information, Behavior Plan, High Risk Plans, Health Care Management Plans, and mandatory trainings.
- Follows The Arc Southwest Indiana’s policy and procedures.
- Ensures that people exercise their rights and that rights are not restricted without due process, ensuring people are treated with dignity and respect.
- Reports suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor.
- Follows all plans in place for individuals including PCISP, Behavior, High Risk, and Health Care Management to help develop personal/professional skills and attitudes.
- Follows all work rules and policies
- Manages all participant specific trainings and behavior trainings as needed
- Ensures all participant are involved in an activity and at their work station.
- Completes behavior reports when needed and submits copies to program coordinator each time.
- Engages consumers in daily activities.
- Maintains a clean and neat work area.
- Reports to designated department when Day Program is closed due to inclement weather during Day Program hours.
- All other duties deemed necessary.
Monday - Friday, 7:30AM-4:00PM CST
