Job Description

SUMMARY: The EVS Assistant Manager assists the EVS Manager in leading daily departmental operations across assigned shifts. This position ensures all property areas are maintained at the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in accordance with company directives and regulatory standards

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Responsible for maintaining inventory control of all personnel equipment and issuing employee uniforms.
  • Maintain accurate personnel equipment records.
  • Maintain accurate personnel time sheets.
  • Maintains and conducts inventory of housekeeping supplies, cleaning chemicals and paper goods inventories, re-ordering, and re-stocking when necessary.
  • Coordinates housekeeping work with other departments, as necessary.
  • Coordinates EVS Housekeeping employees in the proper execution of their responsibilities and monitors work.
  • Conduct routine walk-throughs to ensure EVS attendants are completing assigned duties (vacuuming, sanitizing gaming machines, deep cleaning restrooms.
  • Reports potential safety hazards, problems, or repair needs, and notifies the appropriate individuals for proper resolution.
  • Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates all EVS Housekeeping employees.
  • Assists Management in recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, assign, evaluate, discipline, and/or terminate all EVS Housekeeping employees.
  • Oversee daily operations for the EVS department on assigned shifts, including days, swing, or overnights, to ensure the gaming floor, restaurants, and back-of-house are pristine.
  • Reviews departmental customer complaints, ensuring corrective action is taken.
  • Help facilitate the flow of information throughout the property, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all EVS Housekeeping employees.
  • Ensure all EVS machinery (floor polishers, carpet extractors, vacuums) is functioning correctly and promptly reporting any maintenance or repair needs
  • Other duties as assigned by Management, Human Resources, and all members of SCDC leadership.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess effective communication and organizational skills. Minimum of one-year prior industrial housekeeping experience required, with progressive supervisory/managerial experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively speak and write basic instructions and correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands for a Casino EVS Assistant Manager are highly strenuous due to the 24/7 nature of the hospitality and gaming environment. While the role is managerial, leaders must regularly perform the same physical tasks as their team to audit work, train staff, or assist during peak hours.

  • Constant Standing: Standing and walking on hard floors for 8 to 10 hours per shift.
  • Frequent Bending: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling to inspect low areas or demonstrate cleaning techniques.
  • Repetitive Motions: Reaching, pushing, pulling, and gripping continuously to utilize industrial cleaning tools.

Strength & Lifting Heavy: Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds independently (e.g., trash bags, chemical containers, and linen bundles).

  • Pushing/Pulling: Moving heavy equipment including motorized floor scrubbers, fully loaded housekeeping carts, and large waste bins.

Sensory & Environmental Tolerance-Chemical Exposure: Working safely around biohazards, commercial detergents, and heavy-duty sanitizing chemicals.

  • Casino Environment: Tolerating continuous exposure to secondhand cigarette smoke, flashing lights, and high noise levels.
  • PPE Compliance: Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (gloves, masks, goggles, steel-toe shoes) for extended periods

  • Operates in a dynamic, continuously fast-paced casino environment.
  • Requires flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
