You will be supporting SQA's national inspection team in the field by performing quality inspection for Cable and Harnesses. You will be a quality representative for our client on behalf of SQA to support quality improvements.
SQA Services is seeking an Electronic Source Inspector to perform on-site inspections at supplier facilities throughout Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Diego County, and potentially Ventura County. This is a part-time contract role (typically 1–3 days per week) with the flexibility to accept inspection assignments based on your availability.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections at one or more client suppliers in the area.
- Ensure products meet quality and specification standards
- Verify safety wire orientation, correct turns, and pigtails as per specifications
- Confirm shipping documentation is legible and accurate (part number, serial number, etc.)
- Check documentation packages to industry standards and classify defects
- Interpret manufacturing drawings and identify non-conformances
- Periodically verify accuracy and ensure productivity to meet production schedules
- Maintain equipment and keep the work area organized
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cable and Harness Inspector/Assembler in electronic manufacturing or related fields with knowledge of cable and harness assembly methods
- Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school
- Knowledge of electronic contract manufacturing and LEAN manufacturing a plus
- Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and identify wiring components
- Proficient in documenting Certificates of Conformance (COC)
- Strong organizational, communication, and software adaptation skills
- Must be fluent in English
- ITAR Compliance required with background checks as necessary
- 5+ years of experience in quality inspection, with 2 years as a Cable and Harness Inspector
- Familiar with IPC-A-620 standards; IPC-A-620 certification a plus
- Degree in Engineering
