ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

BMG has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager who can work onsite at our Beaverton, MI site. The Project Manager is the primary contact between the customer and BMG for project communication and requirements. This role involves overseeing project activities to ensure customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, and goal achievement. The Project Manager will also assist with quoting, sales, and customer engagement. Occasional travel and hosting of customer visits may be required. A curious mindset and focus on continuous improvement are essential. The ideal candidate should have manufacturing experience, preferably with capital equipment, and is skilled in managing projects, providing updates, and addressing any deviations to meet delivery deadlines.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage and coordinate all phases of project planning and execution.
  2. Develop and communicate detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and performance metrics to all applicable departments, including external vendors when necessary.
  3. Organize and lead project kick-off meetings with cross-functional teams, ensuring all stakeholders understand objectives, roles, and responsibilities.
  4. Facilitate effective communication among departments to ensure alignment and accountability.
  5. Track project status against goals and objectives through regular cross-functional team meetings.
  6. Prepare and distribute project reports to communicate progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  7. Act as the primary liaison for customers regarding project updates, shipping schedules, and installation timelines.
  8. Proactively address customer concerns and ensure their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  9. Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  10. Identify and resolve any deviations from the project plan promptly.
  11. Design and Scope Review
  12. Participate in design reviews to evaluate work order and design requirements, ensuring alignment with project scope and cost considerations.
  13. Provide feedback on design changes to optimize performance and cost efficiency.
  14. Develop, recommend, and implement programs to improve performance in project planning, resource utilization, budget adherence, schedule compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  15. Assist in sales presentations, calls, and quoting activities as needed to support business growth.
  16. Provide technical and project-related insights during customer engagements.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A minimum Bachelor’s degree, engineering degree preferred.
  2. A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a planning or project management position/function in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Experience with project management tools and software required.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Experience with manufacturing/capital equipment preferred.
  6. Willingness to travel required.
  7. A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.

ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
