FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Location: Madisonville, LA
Department: Warehouse
Schedule: 11:00am-7:30pm
Pay: $18/hour

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift and other material-handling equipment to move, load, and unload products and materials throughout the facility. This position supports production, shipping, and receiving operations while ensuring safety, accuracy, and efficiency in all warehouse activities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment to move materials throughout the facility..

• Load, unload, stage, and transport raw materials, finished goods, and supplies.

• Verify product codes, quantities, conditions, and storage locations for accuracy.

• Maintain accurate material movement and inventory records.

• Perform daily equipment inspections and promptly report safety or maintenance concerns.

• Support production needs, cycle counts, inventory checks, and warehouse organization

• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or GED with basic math and reading skills.

• 1+ year of forklift or warehouse experience; ability to safely operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.

• Knowledge of safe material handling, lifting practices, and warehouse procedures.

• Forklift certification preferred and required upon hire.

• Food manufacturing/distribution and ERP or inventory system experience preferred.

• Ability to safely perform physical warehouse duties, including extended standing/walking, frequent bending, reaching, and climbing on/off equipment, and lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to distinguish colors, labels, and product codes, with adequate vision and depth perception to safely operate equipment in varying conditions, including cold and wet environments.
