This role is a senior technical leadership opportunity focused on designing and governing enterprise-grade digital experience platforms built on Liferay DXP. You will define end-to-end architecture, integration strategies, and scalable solution frameworks that power complex digital ecosystems for global clients. Acting as a key advisor to both technical teams and business stakeholders, you will translate business needs into robust, secure, and maintainable architectures. The environment is highly collaborative, spanning architecture, engineering, design, and client leadership teams across international delivery contexts. You will play a critical role in ensuring consistency, performance, and scalability across multiple digital experience initiatives. This position is ideal for a hands-on architect who thrives on solving complex enterprise challenges and shaping long-term platform direction.

Accountabilities:

Define and govern the end-to-end technical architecture for enterprise Liferay DXP solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with business objectives across multiple delivery teams.

  • Lead architecture design across content, integration, security, deployment, and system interoperability layers
  • Facilitate technical discovery sessions and architecture workshops with client and internal stakeholders
  • Establish architecture standards, governance models, and technical guardrails for consistent delivery
  • Design integration strategies with enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, PIM, DAM, CDP, search, and identity platforms
  • Produce and review detailed architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical specifications
  • Assess and mitigate technical risks related to performance, scalability, security, and maintainability
  • Support solution planning, technical proposals, estimations, and pre-sales engagements
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to architects, engineers, and delivery teams
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and support production and platform stability
Requirements:

This role requires deep expertise in Liferay and enterprise architecture, combined with strong technical leadership and consulting experience in complex digital environments.

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and enterprise application development
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering Liferay DXP solutions (7.x or later)
  • 3+ years of experience in a Technical Architect, Solution Architect, or lead technical role
  • Strong expertise in Liferay architecture, including OSGi, Service Builder, MVC, workflows, roles/permissions, and headless APIs
  • Proficiency in Java and enterprise application development principles
  • Experience designing headless, hybrid, and composable architectures using REST, GraphQL, and modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, Angular)
  • Strong knowledge of system integration patterns and authentication mechanisms (SSO, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect)
  • Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as CRM, ERP, CDP, DAM, PIM, and middleware solutions
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile delivery
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with a consulting mindset
  • Bonus: Liferay certifications, experience with Liferay Commerce or SaaS offerings, or work in regulated industries
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range ($120,000 – $180,000 USD, depending on experience and location)
  • Flexible remote or hybrid work options (based on location)
  • Career development and international mobility opportunities
  • Access to continuous learning programs, training, and modern tooling
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer contributions to HSA plans
  • Inclusive and collaborative global work environment focused on innovation and craftsmanship
  • Exposure to large-scale digital transformation programs across leading enterprise clients
  • Location-dependent additional benefits shared during the hiring process.
